The less popular team does not have an advantage because of "dog-eat-dog matches". Every game that counts is always one team vs. the other team, so both sides inherently get the same amount of opportunities to push the win percentage in their favor. It's completely up to how the players perform...

I don't know, from my experience Splatfest matches end up being more prone to unstable connections, not less. I can at least accommodate to in-game lag and/or just leave the lobby afterwards if it's really that bad, but I'd take that over both myself and others being randomly disconnected...

Three sub abilities on a Special Saver shirt does not a better player/team make. I didn't level up my shirt beforehand and still won most of my matches on my way to Water Slide King. On no sleep. As for why the team win percentages were the way they were? Randomness, like @Grafkarpador said...

I'm on Team Water Slides and I also had exactly the opposite experience. I managed to join a couple of solid teams and got to King rank in less than 4 hours. Only reason I left them at all was because of DCs on my end. When you have an event with this many players, it's gonna be hard for one...

I will pick my favorite side if only because I still want to remain true to myself - even if we could've found out what the popular vote was at any given time, I still would've picked Cats. However, I don't see any reason to keep playing after maxing my rank with the rules as they stand now...
