Enjoying it so far. The multiplayer being similar to 2 reminds me somewhat of the jump from Smash Wii U to Ultimate. There isn't a massive difference in the core gameplay between 2 and 3 but that isn't a bad thing. 3 doesn't reinvent the wheel and it doesn't need to. The metaphorical cake is...
Spot on. It isn't as scrubby as certain blasters or rollers. Far from it.
Very effective in certain situations but if you don't time your attack properly, it leaves you pretty open. Plus it isn't as assured or consistent as other weapons. There are enough weaknesses there for it to not be...
Lots of variables but a couple of things I look out for:
Numerical advantage:
Usually there is a better chance of having a good run with more significant numbers(4>2, etc), so that is a good time to get on the tower if suitable. Always keeping an eye on how many players are active.
Match...
Seemed to be just a short transition period! Also specials have less of an impact now compared to 1, which comes into play. In a way the reduced reliance and strength of specials has levelled the playing field somewhat which can have an effect.
Again, circumstantial. When I meant better I meant more so with the coverage. The larger one doesn't offer much offensively but if I'm on the tower it can be effective. Lot has to go right though.
Definitely a circumstantial weapon which has glaring weaknesses but I find it can be quite effective in Tower Control when you're attacking. Shielding yourself and others while on the tower to break a chokepoint can be the difference between winning and losing. I do rely on my teammates to splat...
Looking forward to it!
New games modes and a more detailed player and weapon history with in depth stats will give a lot of depth to the game. Those are my main wants.
Hoping the higher tier rollers power is reduced, it was literally broken at some stages with how ranged and unfairly...
The splat rollers are mostly fine and manageable. The Carbon and Dynamos are overpowered, an easy way out and OTT. The range, damage, swish/flick speed and spread of ink borders on ridiculous. Think of the Dynamo and Carbon rollers as Smash Wii U's Diddy Kong pre-patch, only the scrubs who...
Dynamo for sure, with a couple of the other rollers (loaded up with damage ups and ink subs for burst bombs) and the luna blaster neo being a close second.
It's ridiculous how much range it has, it is even worse with lag and how quick it can be.
Splatting someone using a luna blaster rolling with heaps of damage ups and a gold dynamo/carbon roller rolling with heaps of ink sub and damage ups is always a great moment, especially when you're up against it vs them from the start.
If you have the splash wall as a sub I'd recommend practicing bouncing them off walls so they land in front of you on the tower, to shield you from enemy ink. Can buy you a few seconds.
Also, if using a bubbler, knowing when to activate it while on the tower. Tower control is about intuition...
It going to be real interesting, to see how Nintendo handles Splatoon in the medium term, considering its their first truly successful first party shooter(Pull me up if iI'm wrong about this one but i can't think of any pure first party shooter from Nintendo this successful). Its marketable...
I think in general for most blasters you need to keep active. Don't stop moving. if you are out in the open and are standing still while shooting, you're a sitting duck. Stick and move. Don't be afraid to submerge/swim and pop up again to have another shot at an opponent/retreat, Based on the...
Agree with the Luna on TC, incredibly easy for someone mediocre to have success with it.
Agree with the 2 rollers, not so much restricted to a particular mode. To be honest in any mode they are pretty overpowered. again, pretty easy for a sub standard player to dominate considering the range...
I'm sick of rollers, well the premium ones anyway. Dynamo, Tempered and there was another one whose name escapes me.
You can be splatted even when you're on the side of them and not directly facing the roller and the range on some of them is absolutely crazy. its such a cop out to use them and...
