Just a fun thread, if you were able to make a 3rd (or even 4th) alternate kit for a weapon, what would the main/sub/special combo be?

List the main, sub, and special weapon. New name optional. Then give a brief description of why.

There is only 1 limit, the new kit CANNOT have a sub or special that is present on its other kits, it must be completely unique.

Here's a bunch of ones I threw together. It's literally just the first weapon in each category.

Polished Sploosh-o-matic
(Has a shiny silver metal coating)
-Burst Bomb
-Booyah Bomb
The short ranged Sploosh paired with a sub that allow it to put out some long ranged pressure. Something that both other Sploosh kits lack. The Booyah Bomb adds to the ability to deal with ranged targets but also gives the weapon a sort of defense in close combat.

Aluminum Carbon Roller
(Has a monochrome color scheme)
-Fizzy Bomb
-Inkjet
Carbon Roller with the Fizzy Bomb which is good at spreading and getting some loose damage on targets. Additionally the trail helps approach and take out the damaged foes. The weapon is also paired with the aggressive special of Inkjet, giving the weapon a more directly offensive special as opposed to its other kits.

Super Squiffer
(Has a green/yellow color scheme)
-Beakon
-Ultra Stamp
Being in the middle of being a defensive and aggressive player, it is designed to place beakons to help allies return to the advance. Ultra Stamp to give the weapon a strange sort of melee option.

Waste Slosher
(Uses more earthy, dark greens and browns)
-Toxic Mist
-Splat-Bomb Launcher
The first weapon in the Slosher family to have Toxic Mist, halting enemies and making them prime targets. Splat-Bomb Launcher as well.

Retro Mini Splatling
(Has the same color scheme as the Splatoon 1 Splat weapons)
-Suction Bomb
-Burst-Bomb Launcher
A throw back to a sub and special that previous Mini Splatling had. The Sub from the original and the Burst Bomb Rush from the Refurbished.

Electric Dapple Dualies
(White color scheme with lightning bolt stickers)
-Torpedo
-Ink Armor
Torpedo to act as a distraction and Ink Armor as a support tool.

Spy Splat Brella
-Point Sensor
-Sting Ray
A Splat Brella that also works for support. Due to the weapon's good painting, it may build up Sting Ray's fast.

Crystal Dapple Dualies: Clear Daple Dualies with a light blue Nouveau sticker and Nozzle. Burst Bomb+kInk jet/Curling bomb+Baller
Seeing as how the Dapplies are currently outclassed as a slayer because of the kits, and support because of the main weapon, I figured that giving them an ultra aggro kit would be a fresh take compared to the other kits.

Industrial Glooga Dualies: Black Glooga with orange arrow stickers. Sprinkler+Splat bomb launcher
Basically aimed to alleviate the awful inking the Glooga has

Gardener H-3: Green and yellow. Sprinkler+Inkstorm
Basically just a company weapon as all components of this kit are produced by the same in game weapon company.

Beach brella: A white Splat Brella that has stripes to match the user's ink color. Toxic mist+Ink jet
Basically a more agressive Splat Brella with an area denial sub and aggressive special.

(Custom?) Explosher: u probably no wut it'll look like
Beakons+Inkjet/Stingray
Beakons for team support, and Inkjet cuz Sloshers no have and Stingray for Backliner synergy.

Burst Explosher silver chrome with green decals

Sub: Burst bomb/ ink mine
Special: Inkstorm

The explosher has the ability to tac on tons of damage due to it's ability to deal 90 dmg so having burst bomb or inkmine would allow it to have a close range follow up to damage while still being able to support
Inkstorm again like the range blaster will deal trickle dmg to follow your attacks as well as keep good coverage and support as a backliner

Campy tenta brella tan center with black edges
Sub: torpedo
Special: booyah bomb

The tenta brella has never had a way to deal with chargers and long range blaster so having torpedo gives it the ability to force the enemy to take their attention off you
Booyah bomb again allows it to keep it area denial and allow it to increase it's coverage potential

Dark squiffer dark red and organge design
Sub: splat bomb
Special: super stamp
Basically a splatoon 1 revamp of the fresh squiffer with a better sub and the S2 version of the kraken

Sunny Brella (Looks like Hero but is primarily yellow and changes color depending on your ink)
Sub: Ink Mines
Special: Inkjet
You may ask "why mines? they suck". Well Splat Brella does 90 direct damage and mines do 35-45 damage. Not only that but Splat can limit approaches since they can place a mine + stay in shield while you try to kill them and shoot when you're open. And before you say "Undercover has mines" they don't work as well since the shield and weapon itself is much weaker.

Root Beer Squeezer (A dark brown and cream colored Squeezer with a sticker)
Sub: Toxic Mist
Special: Ink Armor
A Squeezer, but with more of a supportive role.

I've always wanted a Heavy or Hydra Splatling with Squid Beakons. Using them to move between positions and supporting the front liners.

Main: Heavy/Hydra
Sub: Beakons
Special: Anything that works well with ranged weapons: Inkstorm (preferred), Booyah Bomb, even a Bomb Rush.

N-ZAP '90
(based on the SNES's color scheme, so grey and purple)
-Ink Mine
-Baller
We don't really have Ink Mine on average ranged all around weapons, except like the Glooga. The N-ZAP being a highly mobile weapon, it would be able to place Mines in mid to give information on advancing targets. Baller can potentially be a follow up move once you've locked a target down.

False Jet Squelcher
(Uses the red color scheme of the Dual/Dualie Squelcher)
-Splash Wall
-Booyah Bomb
Kind of a throw back to the original Jet Squelcher from Splatoon 1. With Splash Wall as its sub just like the first game and Booyah Bomb which acts very similar to how Ink Strike used to.

Firehouse H-3 Nozzlenose
(And H-3 with a red and yellow firefighter color scheme, red frame, yellow hose)
-Curling Bomb
-Ink Storm
An H-3 designed around having a degree of mobility, the Curling Bomb will allow you to to places faster. Ink Storm just there, might weaken opponents for 2 shot set-ups or pressure them into more optimal positions.

Feather Flingza Roller
(A Flingza with a large feather attached to its base grip)
-Fizzy Bomb
-Sting Ray
A String Ray weapon, with the Fizzy Bomb there to do chip damage to support the Flingza ranged swings.

Worn Inkbrush
(Greyed out base, as if the ink chipped off)
-Burst Bomb
-Ink Armor
An Inkbrush designed to splat, with Burst Bombs to deal damage quickly and prep enemies to be taken out. Ink Armor in tow to give it a heads up on an engagement.

Immortal Hydra Splatling
(Purple, with a Hydra sticker)
-Sprinkler
-Inkjet
A long ranged weapon which can spread loads of ink from afar. Mix that with the Sprinkler, it will generate specials often. Use the Inkjet to push then return back to your perch.

Industrial Glooga Dualies
(Sports and orange palette)
-Autobomb
-Tenta Missiles
Give it an at least somewhat offensive sub, as opposed to the support Ink Mines and defensive Splash Wall. Tag on Tenta Missiles since the weapon is typically valuable at range.

Sanitarium Squiffer: A Dark orange Squiffer with the Octoshower logo. Torpedo+Inkjet
An aggressive Set meant to pressipr the opposing team greatly with the ability to kill opponents with uncharged shots should the Torpedo hit.

Carbon Dioxide {CO2} Roller: A Purple Carbon Roller with neon green stickers. Fizzy bomb+Inkjet
Fizzy bomb allows you some mobility and can help with confirming kills while Inkjet is well... Inkjet soo...

Neon Tetra Dualies: Red and light blue Tetra Dualies. Splat bomb+Ultra Stamp.
Just your average set of a lethal bomb+Special.

Retro Splatling: A maroon Mini Splatling with blue and yellow accents. Toxic mist+Ink armor
A retake on the glory days of the Zimi in Splat1

Primo Dualie squelchers: Navy Dualie squelchers with a white and red sticker. Torpedo+Booyah bomb
Booyah bomb is a decent midliner special and Torpedo can be used as a distraction for the opponent so u can get away.

These are awesome! I love the names too. I'd definitely pick up that Sploosh-O-Matic.
Faceplant Splattershot Pro
Squid Beakon and Sting Ray
Just to relive those S1 Custom Dual Squelcher days.
This would be perfect. The Custom Dual Squelcher was my main back in Splatoon 1.

Looks like I'll sort of get my wish with the new Ballpoint when it drops next week. Just wish I was better with this one.

In keeping with Sheldon’s Picks from the last game:

Eggplant Inkbrush - Eggplant-purple plastic and green bristles.
Torpedo, Splat Bomb Launcher
Specialty: Chaos
Use Torpedo to distract opponents and splat them, and use it and the Inkbrush to gain special quickly. Unleash the Splat Bomb Launcher to sow even more confusion onto the field.

Smith Flingza - Green with lighter spots instead of red, like a granny smith.
Burst Bomb, Splashdown
Specialty: Self-defense
Use Burst Bombs to finish off opponents that your swing doesn’t quite kill or to escape bad situations, and drop your Splashdown when you’re caught unawares. Just be careful to stay well-stocked with ink afterwards, because without your Sub and Special you’re a sitting duck.

Stream Squeezer - Light blue tape instead of red, with a mountain depicted on the bottle as if it’s mineral water.
Fizzy Bomb, Ink Storm
Specialty: Pressure
Get chip damage with Fizzy Bombs to make killing distant enemies easier and support your team, or to relocate through enemy ink. Throw an Ink Storm to take back enemy turf and push the objective.

Here's some that I think would be fun to play with

Fortified Tenta Brella:
(Tenta Brella Shield appears with a war camo pattern)
Sub: Suction Bomb
Special: Baller
Description: "Become a Defensive behemoth with this weapon setup, constantly zoning out your opponents with the suction bomb, and tanking hits with ease with the Tenta Brella's Shield and Baller Special"
Points to special: 190p

Apex Range Blaster:
(Range Blaster appears with blue flames and a black ink tank)
Sub: Burst Bomb
Special: Suction Bomb Launcher
Description: "It's lonely at the top, so you're going to need some tools. Burst Bombs help you decimate the competition and the suction bomb launcher extends your domain."
Points to Special: 200p

Goofy Goo-Tuber:
(The top of the baster resembles a peanut, and the pipe is now red with yellow polka dots)
Sub: Fizzy Bomb
Special: Bubble Blower
Description: "Hey all you Goobers, it's time to say howdy to your favorite undersea peanut, GOOFY GOOBER"
"Use the element of humor to fuddle your foes. The funny fizzy bombs help you move stored charges into the front lines and pair up with the bubble blower to protect yourself and your friends."
Points to special: 170p

Tactical Tetra Dualies:
(Tetra Dualies now have a grey base, and the suction cups are colored a dark blue)
Sub: Toxic Mist
Special: Ink Armor
Description: "A 1v1 specialist, the tactical tetra dualies come equipped with toxic mist so you can dash around the opponent for days, and ink armor gives you an extra edge over the opposition."
Points to special: 190p

KFC's $20 Tri-Slosher:
(Literally a KFC brand Bucket)
Sub: Autobomb
Special: Autobomb Launcher
Description: For the low price of 11800G, you get our stainless steel and aluminum chickens. All of our chickens are made with our secret patented tracking code, providing every little chicken the opportunity to follow your opponent.

Enough to annoy a team of four, for the low price of just 11800G. *Sauce is dependent on ink color.

Points to special: 199.9p

Yes, I know the tenta brella and range blaster kits are not unique, but they play so differently, those two weapons wouldn't replace the originals.

And we already have duplicates in the game already, with the Gold Aerospray and Slosher Deco. As well as the Hydra splatling and tetra dualies.

There are more duplicates as well, but none of the weapons feel exactly the same.
