The host in any particular game would have an advantage over everyone else because they're playing in 0 lag (although maybe this is mitigated by client-side hit detection? i can't be bothered thinking too much about it), and also because they are never going to DC (unless Splatoon supports host-switching during a game; I have no idea if it does). Given that it seems tournaments are shifting toward a if-you-DC-it's-your-problem type ruleset, which I think is the right call, being the host is a non-negligible advantage.
To be as fair as possible you'd want to have the host switch between the two teams between games. However, I realize this would further prolong an already tedious process, so maybe it isn't worth it. I just thought I'd point it out in case it hasn't been considered already.
