We're back for our 3rd season.

Hello, @everyone. Seascraper has been running for over half a year now, and we're quite happy with the progress we've made. We collaborated with eSportBrosTV for the largest EU tournament of its kind, we gave TakeOver $100, and we even reached 1 million Twitter followers.

But it's now time for something new.

Seascraper: Season 3 is taking place this August!
Seascraper seasons rank teams by their performance over a number of weeks. Teams receive points based on their placement in each individual tournament, before being ranked by the total number of points they have collected over the season. Two Seascraper seasons have already been complete.

But what makes this season so different?

    1) A Prize to Play For: With the help of the Seascraper community, the winners of this season will receive an art prize to reward their skill! Teams can donate to the Seascraper prize fund, 100% of which will be used to commission an artist to draw a team picture. To be eligible to receive this prize, teams are required to donate a minimum of 7 Euros, but we hope this will not act as a barrier. If you wish to donate, please visit https://www.paypal.me/Seascraper .

    2) More than Just a Weekly: After a long break, we have decided to re-introduce Seascraper Deluxe! This is a larger, groups to single elimination tournament that takes place on the weekend, allowing more teams to enter. Seascraper DX awards more season points than the regular Seascraper tournaments, making it more worthwhile to play.

    3) A Fairer Points System: We have revamped the way we distribute points, to now consider the number of teams entering each tournament. Factors such as total weeks entered and team upsets are still used to paint a fair picture of each team's performance. Point Distributions are available at the bottom of this post, in the leaderboard spreadsheet.

We're excited about the new season and possibilities it might bring! The first edition of Seascraper as part of Season 3 will be Tuesday, at 8 PM CEST. Our ruleset can be found in this document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OmddHviga1geZ16sq4MtURFCYTMzL72ic6ULMpCfrgk/edit?usp=sharing
All the action takes place in our Discord server: https://discord.gg/uawRXjY . We hope to see you there!

    Likely Questions (LQ)

Q: Do we have to pay to enter Seascraper?
A: Nope! Entrance is completely free. However, donating to Seascraper allows us to bring you prizes.

Q: What happens if the pool of funds is too small for a prize?
A: Unfortunately, we will be unable to commission artists, and the winners will not receive a prize. This is why donations of any size are hugely appreciated, even if you're unable to give €7. We aim to collect around €50 for the prize; exceeding this amount is better than not reaching it, since any leftover money will be used for future seasons.

Q: Are there any ways to donate other than using PayPal?
A: PayPal should support sending money from credit cards, as well as from a PayPal account's funds. If you have any other methods of sending money in mind, please talk to a staff member.

Q: Are you planning to stream this season?
A: We would very much like to stream Season 3 of Seascraper, especially the Deluxe edition. We do not have consistent streamers, however, so if you're interested in helping us out, please let us know. You do not need to have any experience in casting!

Q: Do we have to play every week to take part in the season?
A: No. Teams register for events on an individual basis, so don't worry if you can't play every week! A multiplier is applied to the number of points a team has collected, depending on the number of weeks a team has entered. This means that teams that place well but don't enter all tourneys still have a chance of winning.

If you have any other questions, let us know in our Discord server.
