Fresh Start Cup is back, bigger and better than ever. This two-day Splatoon 2 event for newer/inexperienced and upcoming teams is one to have you hyped and excited about. Why? Because Fresh Start Cup is an event that helps newer/inexperienced and upcoming teams improve and get better as a team and player. We know how important it is to make sure these teams are given the spotlight and support they deserve. Top teams and players are barred from play, making this tournament just for you. It's time to stop getting destroyed by high level players, and it's time to start playing other teams at your skill level.

What's new? Well, we now have a different format. It's still the same two-day functional format, but with a twist that GUARANTEES matches at your skill level.
Day 1 is still Swiss, this time with 5 rounds and Best-of-5 "play all 5" sets. Wanna know something cool? Swiss tries to pair you with teams that have a similar record to yours, which makes swiss the best format to use when hosting a tournament for newer/inexperience and upcoming teams! Not only do you get A LOT of matches, but matches you get to play against teams that are at OR just above your skill level! Swiss is also the best format to gain a learning experience, and that's what you should always try to get out of a tournament.
Now HERE'S where the twist comes in. Day 2 will have MULTIPLE brackets so teams can be separated BY their performance in Swiss placements. Yes! Amazing isn't it? This format is designed to give you more matches and FAIRER matches. Each bracket will have a Groups - Single Elimination format. Group Sets will have a Best-of-3 format and Single Elimination sets will have a Best-of-5 format (Grand Finals Best-of-7). There are 4 brackets (Gold, Silver, Bronze, and the Ribbon Bracket) for separating you based on how you did in Swiss placements. Teams will experience the joy of being matched up equally and fairly. Day 1 will take place December 15th at 11am EST and Day 2 will take place December 16th at 11am EST. These are EU friendly times! So if you are in the European region don't hesitate to participate!

Our rules on eligibility are still mostly the same. If you are in Division 2 - 7 of LUTI Season 7 you may participate. However, some teams in Division 2 might not be eligible to participate. See the server to find out if you are eligible. Any new/inexperienced team that is not participating in LUTI may also join. You do not have to be signed up in LUTI to participate in this tournament. Some upcoming teams may not be eligible to participate, but most will. Please see the server for more info if you are not sure if you are eligible. We also recommend that any casual team or player join, it is a good learning experience and we are sure you will walk away glad you participated, if you don't try you won't succeed! You may even want to come back again! Even if you are worried you might fail, failure is the first step to succeeding. Who succeeded without failing at least once?

We've also returned to a good ol' fashioned set map list. No more counterpicking. In addition, Fresh Start Cup has made the switch from Battlefy to Smash.gg. This switch is for a lot of good reasons, and a HUGE reason that'll be announced soon.

So Splatoon 2 gamers, ready for the time of your life? Signups are now open and end December 15th at 8:00am EST. Casted by GenGame, the casting organization that allowed you to watch Long Island Splat from the comfort of your home, this tournament is sure to be not one to forget for both players and viewers.

Day 1 Begins December 15th at 11am EST. (EU Friendly)
