Introduction:
If you guys know your life cycles, the reincarnation part of it goes into effect here. This series was never originally intended to be reincarnated as a potential sequel series for Splatoon 2, but second thoughts can prove otherwise. In other words, Turficane is back, but as a new spinoff series to the original, and the original is for real discontinued. Recapping the final installment of the old series, Extermination finally managed to break out with a win, beating the winners of Turficane 4 Crème Fresh with a 4-1 score. After being known as the runners-up to the former unified Chimera on a pair of occasions, and as a top 3 finisher in 4 of 5 installments, they succumbed no more, thanks to the eventual recruits known as Kirito and Banana. With this new potential spinoff series here, we should see how it fares, and if it becomes a success, expect more. Also, the reason for the inclusion of Neo should remind you of the Neo variants of certain weapons, and the fact that in some way, this is the Neo variant of the old series, hopefully better than that in the same matter of the Neo weapons being more superior to the originals in Splatoon 1, if you agree that is. Another thing to mention is that if this goes through, Turficane will be the first organization to have used 3 different tournament organization sites, which includes Challonge for the first 2 installments, smash.gg for the final 3, and now Battlefy for this new tournament. Please scroll down to check out the rules, details, and other information you need to know before signing up on Battlefy.

Main information

The tournament will be scheduled to take place February 17th and 18th (February 18th and 19th in Japan), with it starting at 9 AM PST/12 PM EST in North America, 17:00 GMT/18:00 CET/19:00 MSK in Europe, 02:00 JST in Japan.

It shall feature no more than 64 teams. If that number of teams who registered gets surpassed, you'll be on the waiting list. You may be entitled to play, depending on if teams don't make it, so keep note of that.

Registration is now open through Battlefy, and will stay open until December 1st, 12 hours before the tournament, so if you want to register, register as soon it opens, since spots may fill up quickly.

The format will feature group stages for Day 1, which is guaranteed, and for Day 2, a multi-bracket stage.

Group stage/bracket stage information
There will be x number of groups, with 8 teams in each group. If there happens to be 64 teams playing, then there's going to be 8 groups of 8. After the group stage ends, then the top 2 teams of each group advances to the bracket stage.

Teams in a specific group will face all other teams in that same group once, with best of 3 sets.

After the group stage ends in Day 1, there will be some bracket stage action, as far as the top 8 in the following 2 brackets, Bracket A (the first round in the winners and losers side of the bracket) and Bracket B (the first 2 rounds). Then, in Day 2, the bracket stage resumes with said top 8 in each bracket.

Bracket A should feature 16 teams, and the top 2 teams of each group entering Day 2 will play in that bracket, and that bracket will be double elimination. As for Bracket B, it should feature 32 teams, with teams finishing 3rd to 6th in their respective groups. The format for this bracket will be single elimination, and there's going to be a 3rd place tiebreak.

Time limit information
Each best of 3 set should last no more than 30 minutes, followed by 45 minutes for best of 5s, and 60 minutes for best of 7s.

Cash payment information/prizes
Entry to this tournament is paid, where the revenue goes to the pot prize, and the price is $10 per team of 4 ($2.50 per person) + 1.25 per additional member (maximum of 8 players per team permitted; prices in USD). The entire revenue goes to the top teams per bracket:

70% for the top 2 in Bracket A (45% for 1st, 25% for 2nd)
30% for the top 4 in Bracket B (12.5% for 1st, 7.5% for 2nd, 6.25% for 3rd, 3.75% for 4th)

You must place your payments before you sign your team up. Head here to do so: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business=andrew_lewis124%40hotmail%2ecom&lc=CA&item_name=Turficane&currency_code=USD&bn=PP%2dDonationsBF%3abtn_donateCC_LG%2egif%3aNonHosted

Rules
Disconnections
If you disconnect within the first 90 seconds of a match, and the objective hasn't been pushed halfway to knockout, you can call a replay.

You're only entitled to one replay per round, otherwise if a DC occurs again, then the match must continue with teams playing shorthanded.

DC replays will not be given if your team is losing by more than 33 in-game points, or if the allotted set time surpasses the 2/3 mark (20 minutes for best of 3s, 30 minutes for best of 5s, 40 minutes for best of 7s)

Replays are automatically given out if the entire lobby (or host) DCs.

Delays
Don't take more than 5 minutes to get a match started, otherwise your team (and/or the opposing team if both teams fail to have 4 people ready to play within that time frame in the lobby) will get charged a game. Your team (and/or the opposing team) will get disqualified if it gets charged 2 or more games, depending on the set.

Substitutions
If you need to substitute players, you can substitute no more than 4 players prior to the next match.
You can substitute depending on if you have enough players to substitute with on your roster, but more importantly, time in a round. Substitute sparingly.

If you run out of substitutions, and you're shorthanded, then it's not feasible for you to continue.[/spoiler]

Lag
Play through your matches as best as you can, otherwise if the lag gets too serious, have video evidence ready to show the TOs, so action can be taken such as telling the laggy player to sub out if necessary.

If a request for a host change has been made, you must comply with it; refusal will cost the lobby host and its team a game in the set.

It's recommended that you not bother entering/playing, if you have internet issues which results in lag, unless it gets solved.

If you're playing and streaming, and you get laggy, it's suggested that you stop streaming.

If there's a need for a host change, you must comply to that request.

Note: TOs are obligated to change the ruleset if necessary.

So apparently, Turficane Neo will no longer take place December 2nd and 3rd, because the Head TO is unavailable that weekend, and eSportBrosTV cannot cover this event, so this means the tournament will have to be postponed until a later date, with February 17th and 18th being the new tentative date for it taking place, and the reason for that is January is already booked right through, along with the thought of the plan of reverting to the original scheduling plans in mind for Turficane Neo (which is similar to the plan of the original series, but this time it's the 3rd weekend of the month that preceeds the start of the new season ). Apologies are to be given for the inconvenience the sudden development is about to bring.

It has been a while since an update has been posted, but here's another one that will feature the project getting scrapped, because of the inability to secure a date and organization to join forces with this project. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
