Yeah they're definitely intended for Discord or Twitter, kinda a shame they didn't include square/rectangular frames but I can't really think of anything that doesn't have circular pfps.

how do squidboards icons play with transparency? testing testing...

edit: SO! transparency works but icons are on a different-colored background than the rest of the user info box. on the splatoon 3 theme, you can match the rest of the box by filling the outside of the ring in #303030 using whatever your image editing software of choice is, but the background color for the splatoon 3 theme is #202020, so anyone on that theme doesn't get the illusion of your icon being a circle
