    Overview
The first large scale Splatoon 2 Tournament held in Virginia. The event is designed to raise money for the nonprofit Hope Help Live which helps people with unmet medical and related expenses due to cell and organ transplants or catastrophic injuries and illnesses. The winning team will receive Splatoon-themed prizes provided by local vendor(s).

    Registration
    Venue Fee: $10

    Tournament Entry Fee: $0 (FREE)

Tournament participants can register individually or as a team. Those looking for a team are encouraged to join the Switch Versus Discord and look for teammates in the Splat4Hope channel.

Please register on the event webpage on Smash.gg.

    Equipment
This is a "Bring Your Own Switch" event. Here is what that means:

Event attendees are required to bring the following equipment:
    1. A Nintendo Switch console
    2. A copy of Splatoon 2
    3. Any compatible controllers they'll be using (A Pro Controller with its USB cable is recommended)
    4. A complete Nintendo Switch Dock set (Dock, AC Adapter, HDMI cable)
    5. [Recommended] A headset (Do not plug headsets or headphones with an active microphone or noise cancelers directly into the Nintendo Switch while in LAN mode)
We also ask that tournament entrants bring the following additional equipment for the gaming setups:
    1. A Nintendo Switch compatible LAN adapter (One can be purchased here)
    2. An Ethernet cable, at least 6ft long
There will be a limited quantity of LAN adapters and ethernet cables available for anyone to use. However, there may not be enough for everyone. Therefore tournament entrants are encouraged to bring their own.

Equipment that will remain at a TV/monitor for the duration of the event (like the Dock set, LAN adapter, and ethernet cable) should be labeled with the attendee’s name.

There will be 16 TVs/monitors available at this event, however, tournament participants may bring their own TV/monitor. If 6+ teams register, an additional 8 monitors would be helpful in running the tournament. If this situation happens, any tournament participant supplying 1 of the 8 additional monitors will have his/her venue fee reduced to $5.

    Schedule (all times are EST)
    • 2pm - Setup and Warmup. Attendees without a team can form teams during this time.
    • 2:30pm - Splatoon 2 Tournament
    Event Broadcast
This event will be live streamed on the Switch Versus Twitch Channel and/or YouTube Channel. Tournament participants often appear on the event livestream, so minors who participate are required to obtain their parent/guardian's consent.

During the live stream, viewers will have the opportunity to donate to Hope Help Live. Those who donate money will be able to impact which stages are selected in the Grand Finals of tournament. Here's how that will work:

There will be 9 voting periods spread out over 90 minutes during the event live stream. So every 10 minutes, viewers can vote for 1 of 9 stages by donating money. At the end of the 90 minutes, the top 5 stages that "raised the most money" will be chosen as the 5 stages for the Best of 5 Grand Finals match. The stage that got the most donation money will be selected 1st, 2nd most money will be selected 2nd, and so on.
