Alex, I'll take "threads that surprisingly didn't happen yet" for 500

Jokes aside I did see one thread of this nature but it's almost 10 years old so here the sequel dequel of that thread I suppose. The idea is simple just rank all the gear brands from favorite to least favorite.

I slapped this tierlist together in 10 minutes
Edit: too lazy to do it but skalop is also moving up to peak.

Also here was the template I used https://tiermaker.com/create/splatoon-brands-and-how-costly-theyd-be-16401004?downloadedImage=true just rename the tiers anything you want

My aesthetic opinions on Splatoon gear actually depend more on the individual item than on the brand (I'm a SUCKER for a nice jacket especially), but in practice I gravitate toward whatever I can obtain with the abilities I want. (Several of the brands lower on the list favor abilities I don't use all that often; it is merely coincidence that I don't care for the look.) I did not expect to not actively dislike any brand; even brands I don't normally pay attention to come out with bangers sometimes.

As for Toni Kensa? Y'all Toni Kensa fans are being played like fiddles, mice following the scent of peanut butter to the glue trap. I have two hands and two buckets; I'm not afraid to fight.

EDIT:
amiibo: Every single Splatoon 3 amiibo has cool gear associated with it. No misses whatsoever. Let's point out the Boss Floss, as a rare piece of mouth-specific headgear.
Annaki: It would be copout easy for me to praise the Hula Punks. Annaki's shoe selection, however, is simultaneously subdued and edgy in a way I really respect.
Barazushi: That anorak looks like it could keep me dry in a hurricane.
Cuttlegear: Agent 3 mentioned The Octo Tee's wristbands give it a unique form factor and appeal. They're fun! I like them a lot!
Emberz: You already know I'm frothing at the mouth over the Patchwork Bomber. Greater than the sum of its already awesome parts, not to mention my favorite color combination! I'd wear it IRL.
Enperry: King Flip Mesh, rightfully a classic. I do wear one IRL. (I am no stronger against vanity than an Inkling...)
Firefin: I'm already a fan of the short sleeves over long combo. The Baseball Jersey paired with the hoodie instead of a regular long-sleeved top takes it... well, over the top.
Forge: I have three whole OCs with at least one iconic gear item from Forge. If this was my thread to hijack, I'd let them explain, but I regret to inform you that I will make the basic pick this time: Forge Inkling Parka. Objectively one of the coolest clothing items in the freakin' game. Don't tag me, I'm right.
Grizzco: Let us all raise a toast to the Cooler Jacket. Perfect pun, no notes. All hail Tacticooler. All hail...
Inkline: The Delta Straps are dorky in a fun way. They're not sorry about how silly they look.
Krak-On: I know not at least addressing the canvas shoes would do a great disservice to an Inkadian mainstay. I just want my Splatoon 2 all QR Chili Octo Aloha back.
Rockenberg: Those boots sure look like they could take a beating! To avoid a second basic pick, though, I'd like to point out the splendid flourish of the Sea Lily Hat.
Skalop: Ugh! Torn between the classic Jellyvader Cap and the instant classic Chompers Varsity Jacket! Anyway, I'm aiming for as many subs of QR as I can get my hands on.
Splash Mob: Hee hee hee hee hee. (Whale-Knit Sweater)
Squidforce has too many promotional items and the like for me to make a fair assessment.
Takoroka: You actually wouldn't expect it from me based on my usual sensibilities, but the Takoroka Nylon Vintage really grew on me.
Tentatek: Low on my list, but they designed the Sea Slugs. (Neon Sea Slugs, I'd look at you all day if that wouldn't burn my eyes out. <3)
Toni Kensa: I will admit that I quite like the Orca Bolero.
Z+F: Unapologetically bright and colorful. Gotta give props to the ZedFry Beanie as the best of both worlds.
Zekko: This was already my vibe beforehand. Special shout-out to the LE Lo-tops and those socks. Where do you find that stripe combo? It works better than it has any right to!
Zink: Low on my list, but they designed the Hi-Horses. (Zombie Hi-Horses, you're so ugly I'd wear you without hesitation. <3)

This is a Tony Kensa hate post. Tony Kensa doesn't fit you, you fit Tony Kensa, I won't adhere to their colourless idea of style.

Be fun, be bold, have poor taste, and most importantly don't spend so much money on clothes jesus chr-

This has been my Tony Kensa hate post, see you all later when I make my actual list

Not something I expected to ever rank in a tier list.

Message to Kensa haters, we have in-universe lore regarding the Kensa brand. Toni Kensa himself was interviewed at one point, and he was asked about the vision behind his designs; Kensa uses monochrome colors for his clothing in order to let the bright colors of the ink from battles stand out. A true visionary, he is.

If you want something to call bland, look at the ordinary T-shirts Tentatek and Squidforce produce.

Rockenburg is an undeniably good gear brand in all aspects. Enperry produces the best shoes and it's not even close.
Skalop is 100% carried by its boater hats. I could not care less about the rest of their gear, but the hats are a must-have.
Not a huge fan of outdoor activities in any capacity, hence my distaste for Inkline. (Does anyone wear their gum boots?)

Most of the rest are fairly self-explanatory, save for the Seek Help tier.
amiibo gear may look good, but if you're buying the amiibo just to use the gear, you may have a problem. Also, Fresh Fish.
You know exactly which pieces of Squidforce gear I'm talking about. Not all of them are bad, but some of them...
As for Cuttlegear, the shirts are fine, if bland. If you use the Agent gear there is a 90% chance you have a main character complex.

That's my two cents.

This is the full extent of my opinion.
Sorry, I forgot something very important. Here is my actual opinion.

Although Grizzco might be a tier higher for making Friendship Bracelet. And if I'm feeling generous, Tentatek can be orange tier for making Fake Contacts.

I personally like the cuttlegear shirts, as they have really nice bracelets. also the parallel mask is kind of cool so i kind of need to bump it up a bit higher
