Random Question No. 5: Favorite Holiday??

I have been waiting to post this thread for until after Grand Fest, because it's practically a holiday so it just makes sense to post something about holidays after a holiday :D (and my favorite is also coming soon)
Moving on...
I really like cosplaying and such, and Halloween is the perfect time to do just that! (My favorite is Halloween... if that wasn't clear :P)
I also really like the spooky season in general. The vibes, the smells, the everythings.
I Halloweenified my room today as well. I spent around an hour on it and it looks really great! (Yes, very early, but I bought all this cool stuff this year and couldn't stand to wait another second before putting all of it up. )
I have orange, purple, white, and black LED lights lining my room and three candles I still have to light. (Two of which are unscented and more for looks)
I kinda went off topic....
I also like Valentines Day because I get candy (yet another reason to love Halloween)

halloween is my favorite for pretty much the same reasons as you lol. i'm a cosplayer who likes spooky aesthetics and i'm a horror fan, and i have fond memories of watching horror movies with friends in previous halloween seasons

valentines day also gets points despite me not having a Valentine for the Day since high school because candy, despite it being the opposite of my usual vibe i can get into the lovecore aesthetics of it all, and it's the day before my birthday. actually sometimes i like raiding convenience stores for discounted candy with friends on my birthday

Halloween is my favorite. i love scary stuff and candy so y'know. and it's also when the leaves are at their peak level of orange (if that makes sense)

i'm a horror fan, and i have fond memories of watching horror movies with friends in previous halloween seasons

sometimes i'll watch horror movies with my family but i usually just prefer watching things by myself. well i say horror movies but it's usually just Beetlejuice, Coraline, Tim Burton movies, and maybe some other horror-comedies since my younger siblings aren't old enough for the actual horror movies.
which reminds me, i still haven't finished binge-watching Happy Tree Friends. i should probably get that done before Halloween.

i love halloween bc i love ridiculous halloween props like those hateful little spider skeletons or fortnite costumes, and i always had super cool costumes as a kid like majora's mask link and dr who :3
i'd probably enjoy it a lot more if fall was more of an actual season where i am:,)

i literally went trick or treating up to age 17, live your best life!

objectively the best costume as in "i put the most effort into it" was when i did alchemist cookie's forbidden flask costume for halloween my sophomore year of college. i was a little too self-conscious to walk around campus during the day in costume but i did dress up to watch movies in the common area with some friends. i'm not big into cookie run anymore (swore off gacha games, and devsisters made one too many choices i didn't like) but i will still talk about that costume because i learned to sew for that thing!!! it was kinda wonky but i did it!!

this is actually a really bad picture of it but it's the best i could easily get to. lol

my favorite of my "i just threw something halloween-y together" costumes rather than the "full cosplay for halloween" costumes is my senior year of college when i went on a trip to spirit halloween with my roommates and threw together an Evil Scientist (with a rainbow wig) costume. it was made funnier by the fact that i was doing my senior thesis that year. i was dressed up as the evil version of... what i already was that year

honorary mention to my 2020 costume which was just pieces of different cosplays i'd done over the years (both for halloween and, like, conventions). i called that one "the ghost of the convention hall"

halloween for sure. it's not really a big thing here but still. aesthetically it's great and i love spooky stuff. also the perfect opportunity to draw my ocs in halloween costumes haha
