I'm almost 100% sure that we're done getting new Grizzco weapons so I decided to just rank them based on how much I enjoy using them.

I honestly didn't expect to enjoy the Grizzco Roller as much as I did.
I do still wish it could pierce through armor though.

Didn't mean to upload yet but since I already did, I'll just put the rest of my thoughts here.

Grizzco Dualies are also really fun, just being able to dodge roll all around the map while taking out lessers and painting the floor.
The short range makes it annoying to deal with certain bosses though but that's the only thing I don't like about the weapon.

My feelings on Grizzco Slosher are very complicated. The fact that it's not just any slosher, but a modified Sloshing Machine, means I already have some admiration for the weapon. The design also looks very cool, it makes me wish you could use Grizzco weapons in online matches as skins.
How the Grizzco Slosher actually plays in SR is not as enjoyable though.
I really didn't like it at all for a long time, but around two seasons ago I started getting better with it. My gameplan for whenever I had to play Grizzco Slosher changed and I understood it a lot better than before, but it still has all the same problems that made it a pain to play with.
Terrible ink efficiency, poor movement, and an insanely slow fire rate make it really difficult to use in a mode as fast as SR, where just staying still for a few seconds can lead to you dying from a hoard of lessers.
I would still say it's one of the weakest SR weapons you can get but I like it anyway, but I still don't ever want to see more than one Grizzco Slosher on my team.

Grizzco Charger and Bow are really good against King Salmonids and most bosses so that's why I like them. I don't have more to say about them.

I used to really like the Grizzco Brella but recently, I haven't cared too much for playing it. It's still fun but it's also just very simple, and I keep having to play it in rotations so that's probably why I'm tired of it.
The Splatana is cool though, but it's extremely hard to use and I don't like having to charge up for around 2 seconds to take care of a boss just to stop so I can kill the lessers surrounding me. It doesn't mean the weapon is bad though, I'm just not good enough with it to enjoy it more.

I have nothing to say about Grizzco Blaster.

They should have given Grizzco Brella a gigantic shield and keep the same fire rate when shooting, that would have been extremely funny lol

if the wiki's correct the blaster and brella were the first grizz weapons added. i guess they started off slow with those two and then got into the insanely overpowered gimmicks starting with the gcharger? it would be cool if they revisited those first two though...

What could they change about Grizzco Blaster though? I'm thinking giving it the same range as RB, decreasing the fire rate a bit, and letting it pierce armor would be cool.

Maybe rb range and fire rate, insane damage on directs, and a ridiculous blast radius, like twice as big as clash blaster. Right now it's just clash that paints and fires faster which is lowkey boring

They chose to give Grizzco Blaster the same gimmick that Clash has and I really don't get it. To me, that just makes it the most boring out of all the Grizzco weapons.

ooh that sounds good. or maybe giving its shots bomb properties?

also i decided to do one too

tiers explained:
  1. certain grizzco weapons do things to my brain. sometimes this results in me gstamper-dashing off the edge of the map for a whole wave unfortunately. it also results in me jumpscaring anyone on vc with me
  2. i like them and appreciate their power but they don't do the same things to my brain as the above tier does. gslosh is hard to use but when i can use its armor piercing properties well it really pays off. stringer is just Real Good, not much else to say there. i figured out in a recent random rotation that it can annihilate stingers (which feels obvious in retrospect but shhh)
  3. i'm just really bad at chargers. which is sad because i know this thing is good in the hands of people who know how to use it well
  4. as we've discussed it does show that they were the first ones added back in splat2 lol. if i get these i will try and focus on crowd control but i'll be very jealous of my coworkers with weapons higher on the list (except gcharger, it's best if i don't have that one)
i will say though that as a newer player grizz blaster did also make my brain light up. something about the fire rate made me FEEL powerful. eventually i realized it wasn't as exciting as i initially thought though 😭

To be fair me too! It's fun as a beginner to have a giant no aim explosion weapon but it doesn't feel as... intricate as the ones above when you learn to use them

Grizzco stamper has been the death of me way too many times because of how little paint it outputs itself, same with bucket

Grizzco charger is probably the most fun I have playing the game in general, so satisfying to rapid fire 9 high damage shots

I never thought about it like that.
Grizzco Blaster doesn't give much room for skill expression, which is how I feel about Clash as a main weapon as well.

My favorite Grizzco weapon has always been the Grizzco Brella. Very easy to use, great turf coverage, and can do a pretty good job damaging bosses.

Definitely want to use the Grizzco Roller more as well, but I don't play Salmon Run that often.

Figured now's a good time to revive this thread with my thoughts. What with the Grand Run behind us.

Tiers are ordered.

gSlosher just activates all my neurons. We got a horrifically slow weapon with the worst ink consumption known to man. But it pierces armor and makes chunky noises and does good damage and I love that.
I love how meticulous you need to be with the 4 entire sloshes you get.
Say there's a fallen teammate next to you. You could waste one of your precious sloshes aiming at the floor to revive them ASAP. Oooorrr you could aim at a Fish Stick a little further back and let them get revived a bit later by the plummeting shot. Little optimisations like that are so fun to think about in the chaos of a wave. That and also learning how quickly you can slosh and how fast the shots travel is so fun. I love sniping Flyfish while they're moving. And I feel so cool when I slosh at them, turn around to deal with something else and I hear the direct sound effect from my previous slosh. No other Grizzco weapon can make me feel as awesome as gSlosher, man.
Also this is like one of the few weapons that can shoot through a Steel Eel. Really saved me in the Grand Splatfest Bowl hightides. Just slosh through the eel's face. GG EZ.

gStringer
is kinda like gSlosher to me, you gotta be rather precise with your shots if you wanna get the most out of it. But it's so much easier and it doesn't pierce armor and just feels ok. I like being able to lay down little bombs with the arrows. I love the utility they have in being able to clear out lessers and revive teammates while also dealing with bosses since there's so many of them. But besides that, I feel nothing.

gRoller goes vroom vroom :)

gCharger
is just goodtm. It's fun in the same way sniping people with a normal charger is fun. Except you get to snipe more because the salmonids' movement is predictable. That's all there is to it, but what is there is fun.

gBlaster and gBrella are just there. They're neat, I guess. gBlaster gets a couple extra points for the inherent sillyness of many explosions very fast.

gDualies are fun! I like them a lot! But I am so so bad at Dualies as a whole. Dualie movement just kinda goes againts everything I've learned as a Splatling main and I can't wrap my head around it. I have gotten better with it! I'm not rolling off the map as often as I used to! But I still dodge roll by accident a lot and it ends up leading to my death quite often. One day I'll be a half-decent Dualie player.

gSplatana should in theory be nothing more than a melee-based gSlosher to me. It does basically all the same things as gSlosher, but with better ink efficiency and mobility. And yet somehow I'm just so bad at using it. Maybe it's the lack of range, I am still a backliner at heart. Maybe it's the dash, I somehow end up dashing by accident a lot even though I know about the whole "do a little hop so you dont dash" thing. Either way, it's not clicking.
I play Salmon Run with one of my teammates quite often and gSplatana is his favorite, so I have gotten a lot of tips and tricks on how to use the weapon from him. But unlike with the gDualies where the tips have stuck with me and I am getting better, the same can't be said with the gSplatana. Maybe the universe is trying to keep things in balance. Can't have me being good at the gSlosher and the gSplatana.

Of all of these, I started liking the Grizzco Blaster a lot more and has been getting more appreciation for the Grizzco Roller lately. Being able to wipe out lesser Salmonids as they keep getting between me and my goal to splat problematic boss Salmonids like the usual Stinger and Flyfish (and for some reason, the Slammin' Lid on a lesser scale) really quickly is super helpful and allows me to pick off the most annoying bosses off early. Oh and the fact that the Grizzco Blaster is a great weapon against the Fish Stick, another problematic boss that if not dealt with quickly, can end a run. The Grizzco Roller makes very quick work of Big Shots, another Salmonid that can become very annoying if not splatted but is equally annoyingly tanky at the same time.

I'm so torn on gslosher. It's super powerful and so fun in theory but the rest of your team needs to be standing between you and every smallfry in existence to be able to use it effectively. It's difficult to stay alive long enough to position and use it well, especially at high hazard levels. No amount of power can compensate for being dead because you were stuck in the sloshing animation when a smallfry started biting your ankles.

Roller is without a doubt the most fun but I'm also super irresponsible with it (and also tend to roll off the end of the map). Dualies are also similarly fun (and I have similar problems with them, lol).

Brella and Blaster are nice in that they are a lot more brain-off weapons; I'll never complain about getting them.

Charger, Stringer, and Splatana are all in the category of "I'm sure this is great in the right hands and I am not the right hands." I can't seem to make the splatana's charged slash work for me-- it's like I just clip right through the enemy I was charging at and do no damage. Charger has similar issues to slosher for me where I can't seem to position well enough to use it without being overwhelmed by things I can't effectively kill with it and it feels like I never have enough ink for a bomb. Stringer is fun but I also just can't seem to figure out what the best use of it is (other than quickly taking out stingers).

But in general I enjoy that gold rotations give me more of a chance to get experience with these weapons. I think I got a little more comfortable on splatana this rotation than I have in the past.

My list would go as follows:

Slosher, Charger, Stringer, Roller, Dualies, Splatana, Blaster, Brella.

Grizzco Slosher is definitely the most fun, having tricky weaknesses and the ability to splat almost any boss salmonid with ease.
Grizzco Charger is also quite difficult, its shot management making it more fun that almost all other Grizzco weapons.
Grizzco Stringer is fun thanks to its ridiculous single-shot damage, though its range does carry it up the list slightly.
Grizzco Roller is obviously fun because of its steamrolling capability, but its ballistic vertical flick puts it above similar options.
Grizzco Dualies are in a similar vein to roller, being awesome for their rolls, but also for their turret mode's shredding power.
Grizzco Splatana is unwieldly, but the satisfaction of swatting a Flyfish out of the air with it is unparalleled by any other weapon.
Grizzco Blaster's explosion spam is fun, and the weapon itself is fairly versatile even if it doesn't have the best DPS. It's not awful.
Grizzco Brella is pretty bland and uninteresting. It can paint well, at least.

This is what my current Grizzco weapon rankings are.
my-image (48).jpg

I love the movement and freedom that the Grizzco Dualies give the player. The extremely short range of the weapon is slightly better in turret mode and the dodge rolls themselves can end up getting you killed so being able to know and limit your movement whenever the situation calls for it to then continue dodge rolling all over the lessers feels really satisfying.

Grizzco Slosher forces me to be careful with the amount of sloshes I use making it a more supportive weapon but still being extremely powerful against hoards of lessers and bosses. It especially feels good when you're trying to lure in boss salmonids so you slosh at one in advance to get them weak before they get close while helping your team on the other side and then finishing them off when they're close to a cannon or basket. Moving with your sloshes also feels like a Fizzy or Curling Bomb that kills anything in its path. There's also the satisfaction in how Grizzco Slosher can finish off some bosses but only at a good angle and of course, the weapon being a slower but more powerful Machine is obviously going to put it high on my list.

My opinion on Grizzco Roller has gone down a bit because of how both flicks are either extremely weak or extremely slow. It makes the weapon feel very restricted to the ground and any boss salmonid that can't just be rolled through can be a real problem if your team isn't there to help. I also don't enjoy rolling everywhere as much as I did before but I still like using the Grizzco Roller regardless.

Grizzco Splatana is fun and can be difficult but I just don't find the concept of the weapon as interesting.

Grizzco Charger can feel satisfying to use but I'm not that interested in using a fast and powerful charger.

Everything at the bottom is there because they're just okay to me. Grizzco Stringer could be higher but Brella and Blaster are just very boring and basic Grizzco weapons. The most fun I get out of them is when the comp has other weapons that can play off their paint and damage but that's it.
