Yep, you read that right, Japan is getting its own Splatfest while America and Europe will be sharing one.

Japan's Splatfest is food-themed while the America/European Splatfest is greeting-themed.

you beat me to posting about the new splatfest lol. anyway, for anyone wondering what the themes are:
the japanese splatfest is "Kaiten-Yaki vs. Oban-Yaki vs. Imagawa-Yaki". it's a dessert food filled with azuki bean paste, and it has different names depending on where you are in japan. the theme for the splatfest is asking which name you call it.
the splatfest happening everywhere else is "Handshake vs. Fist Bump vs. Hug", the theme being what your go-to greeting gesture is.
