SPLATOON 4 new mode ideas. I will not introduction today. Here is the ideas.

Balloon bounce-
A mode similar to Rainmaker (maybe too similar). A track extends through the map, similar to the tower path, except elevated above the ground. In the middle sits a balloon on a string, which is dangled below the track, just above the ground. The balloon floats like it’s light, but not helium. Your team must shoot the balloon to move it across the track. But, your shots don’t simply score you points. You have to aim from the right direction, because the balloon will move in the direction it is hit (Newton’s third law babyyyy). It doesn't just follow the track. Essentially, scuffed tower control. But because it has to be quirky and different, we can take some aspects from clam blitz as well. Instead of getting the balloon to the end of the track for a KO, you get the balloon to the end for 10 points or so, and then it respawns. Maybe there could be checkpoint goals too, so you can get points even if your push gets stopped. I’m not too sure how to implement that though. Okay, back to the track. The balloon‘s string connects it to the track so that it cannot be bounced too far away from it. And it will be unable to touch the floor either. This mode would be interesting because you have to dedicate multiple players to the objective, or just shoot it often, and not forget about it. It also makes positioning incredibly important, since where you shoot the balloon from affects where it will go. Although I think this mode might be a bit complex for new players, so without going on a rant, here is solution: lock harder modes to higher ranks. And it wouldn’t be a splatoon without a cool and distinct look for the mode. So I would make the track curvy and round instead of sharp angles, to contrast tower control. The ballon should be metal maybe, or something that shows it’s unpoppability. And it has to look different than those balloons from story mode and dojo mode from S1, since those pop. For some reason I also want the goal to look like a bowling ball retrieval thingy, but I acknowledge that being a bad idea. Maybe a trash bin? IDK. Whew, that was long, onto the next idea hehehehe.

2v2v2v2 battles-
Just like we get 3 team mode for splat3, we should get 4 team mode for s4. 4 teams of 2. Of course maps will need to be made larger to fit the extra spawns. But there a few issues with this. 1, ranked modes will be WAY to chaotic for 4 teams in, so maybe the modes can be modified to fit 4, the modes could be brand new, or maybe it’ll be just turf war. 2, weapon combinations could be really bad, but i’m not too sure on how to fix that without rambling on.

Battle royale-
No. Okay, maybe. But I actually have a different idea for it. Everyone wants some sort of Fortnite-esque big map 100 player weapon building journey jazz. But I say that’s stupido. I think we should go in a different direction, and it‘s a bit silly. So, imagine the plaza, lobby, story mode, and battles all combined into this sort of sandbox mode with a massive open map and tons of cool secrets and rooms and stuff in it. I’m talking 4 times the size of splatsville. And so everyone could just play around on the map, just doing whatever. You could jump anywhere when you spawn in. You can change your ink color any time to whatever. You can change your weapons, gear, in the middle of the match. Well, it’s not really a match either. You just join into a random lobby of it, and then leave whenever. No time limit or anything at all. There’d be tons of places in the map, spots with ranked objectives, massive towers, bridges, moais, rave rooms, parkour??? And different lobbies would have different colors for things, lighting skyboxes… Basically it’d just be a real fun silly place. Maybe too much? Nahhh. It sounds so fun honestly.

I don’t have any other modes, but one more terrible idea for s4 as if this post isn’t already long enough-
HYBRID. CLASSES. Yessir, hybrid classes. I want dual squiffers. Bayonet charger. Extra quirky weapons which take gimmicks from two classes and mash them together! Except for shooter. We could have maybe two combinations for each class except shooters, so that’s 10 possible hybrids. They could all be put in the new hybrid class, as well is each hybrid appearing in both it’s respective weapon classes. Just imagine the possible sillies to be made, man. Slosher charger, fires a long charged slosh, arcs over walls, no charger laser, no one-shot. Or a brella slosher, like the umbrella is used as a little bucket, shield goes up right after a slosh, never launches. Double sword, you know you want it. Double squiffer? you know you want it. Bayonet, long range half-hp shots, with an insta-kill at close range, and very little slowness while charging. Whadaya think? Eh?

Okay it was all maybe a little wee bit crazy and delusional. But you can tell me what you think. Or if I should change anything. Or if you like any of it! Or if I need immediate psychological assistance. Who knows.

The balloon mode shows some promise. It's basically Turbine Tower for multiplayer. I do think that you shouldn't be able to shoot the balloon in a way that makes it move backward along the track (we don't like team grief) but other than that it's a curious, wacky, maybe a little wee bit crazy and delusional idea. I like it.

I would intend for there to be some system to make moving the balloon simpler. For example not shoot it backwards, as you’ve mentioned. And when multiple people are shooting the balloon from different sides, it will move in the direction between them. Also a vision just came to me of a sad sploosh main who can’t reach the balloon, so it also shouldn’t be able to go too high to be out of any weapon’s range.

Sounds a lot like the unused 8-Ball mode from S2. But I can see why that mode got left on the cutting room floor, and I'm not sure this wouldn't suffer from similar problems. Too hard to control, too easy to get stuck, too easy to actively grief even. I don't think putting it on a track is a great solution, because we already have TC.

Actually, the bayonet charger would go so hard
