Splatoon Version 9.1.0 Release

Version 9.1.0 is being released at 1am UTC (a little less than an hour from now). This patch focuses mainly on adding data for the final fest. There are no balance changes, and minor bug fixes.

Notably (to me), they are fixing the song rotation bug that’s been jacking up the multiplayer music.

Wait, the amiibo one? The topknot doesn’t stick out of the amiibo Captain’s hat? What a disappointment.

Yeah, the weird part is that the Octo Ponytail is the hairstyle chosen to stick out, but not the Topknot. We should bring this detail to Nintendo's attention in regards to the inconsistency because the Captain's Topknot does in fact stick out of the cap, so why not the player's Topknot?

Holy cow, so, unlike the Cap of Legend, there’s actually a hole, and they made a different tentacle-style stick though, but not the OG, for some reason. What on earth.

This wording is extremely specific, I don't get it. Have they ever used the term "balance of battles" before? I don't think they have, what does that even mean? Mode specific changes? ... maps? Matchmaking? It doesn't sound like main weapon buffs since that wouldn't require long term battle data to figure out.
They didn't even specify a date, but I'll just assume it'll release mid season, like always.
I'm so confused

According to Chara, yes - only after the content cycles of games, including new kits, are completely done. I still am left wondering what that extra surprise they were hinting at with that Xeet (formerly Tweet) might imply though.
