Unlike in other multiplayer-games, Splatoon is completely free of any form of communication. I'm aware that many players dislike this, but I'm really thankful that Nintendo didn't implemented a chat into the game.
I can feel, that the missing of a chat is truly improving the enjoyment of the game, just because of the fact, that all those salty people can keep their salt for themself, instead of spreading their poisonous words to other players.
What do you think about it?

I adore it. I hope they keep it that way.

The few times I've sat-in or attempted other multiplayer games the environment encouraged me to cutting all communications as a standard practice.

And from what little I gather, many other players prefer using dedicated third-party programs like skype, discord, etc. if not in-game private comms.
