The Significance of DJ Octavio being seen by the Inkopolis and Splatsville public (Theory)

So, in case you didn't see DJ Octavio at all during the Grandfest, he was seen selling merchandise. This opens up one huge possibility for Splatoon 4: Tentacle Octarians on the surface world.

Remember, it's DJ Octavio who was in charge of Octarian society. There's also the fact that while his army is gone, Octarian society itself is unaffected by the fuzzy ooze and the sanitization ink. Heck, Marina even mentions that there are still some Octolings living underground. So with that in mind, Splatoon 4 will certainly have a completely new antagonistic species that we will have to fight, one that would be a threat to the Octarians living on the surface.

The theme of Team Past will most likely play some role as well, maybe Inkadia is going back to the time in which Inklings and Octarians weren't hostile to one another, or maybe there's a new settlement out in the countryside where the Great Turf War had no effect on the relations between Inklings and Octarians, similar to how the Splatlands wasn't affected by the Great Turf War.

Yeah with 4 likely being a reboot, we're probably all done with Octarian lore outside of Sunken Scrolls. With Octavio being fine with Inklings, most Octarians would probably be fine as well, Sanitized Octolings are being restored with the Order Sector program and I think Nintendo just forgot fuzzy Octolings existed (They're not mentioned anywhere in scrolls or outside media, the most we know about them is "Mr. Grizz"). There's nowhere to really go. I think with Past, we're probably gonna get some form of humanity. Maybe another AI, maybe an actual living human, maybe something entirely different. I think it would be cool if we got some kind of physical formation of humanity's hope that was stored within Alterna's crystals. Maybe someone falls into the water of a dome and interprets it as a wish for humanity to be restored rather than see humanity's will being carried on.
