Now it may seem ridiculous at first, that is until you access Hotlantis via Inkopolis Plaza, on the same machine that used to house minigames. Yup, hidden behind your character was a garbage can, but not just any garbage can, a Suspicious Garbage Can (and yes, that's the locker decoration's official name). There is an Octarian tentacle sticking out of it, possibly hinting at the idea that at least one normal Octarian is hiding in Splatsville.

The tentacle in question is red, which is actually the color of most Octarians who serve DJ Octavio. It's not fuzzy and it's definitely not sanitized. Something tells me Harmony is either secretly working with the remaining Octarians who weren't affected by Tartar or Mr. Grizz's oozes, or she's too unaware to realize there's an Octarian hiding in her store and possibly more hiding in Splatsville.

Hmm, if the one in her shop is the same as the decoration that you can obtain it's kind of weird that Harmony would be hiding Octarians in trash cans and then selling them to the Cephalopods for them to store in their lockers. I don't think that would rule out the possibility of her working with them though, because I'm also not sure what Octarians themselves would gain from hiding in garbage cans to be stored in lockers. Maybe a careless Octoling severed their tentacles and discarded them in trash cans, not knowing they would become new Octarians? I'm glad you bring it up though as that decoration intrigues me. I've tried watching it in the locker to see if the tentacle moves or anything but didn't have any luck.

It's possible that in Splatsville, trash cans would be where most people, if not all, would simply not care to look into. Heck, Splatsville itself is even more litered with trash than Inkopolis Square. This would create a perfect hiding place for the Octarians where they can wait for the right time to emerge and start a new life in Splatsville.

I was just a little confused why they would disguise as a locker decoration when the lockers seem like a really easy place to get stuck in. I'm sure they're hiding in other trash cans though, not just the locker ones. And yeah you're right, Splatsville is so full of litter I doubt anybody regularly checks trash cans.

I believe the locker decorations are just replicas of the garbage can seen at the store, thus why they look identical, but are so much smaller.
