Maws, the guys you force feed a bomb too and violently murder. What? It’s self defense. Well, for Maws, sometimes it’s actually best to NOT pop a bomb on them. Why? Well, there are THREE scenarios you may want to let that sucker off.
Number one is if it’s far from the basket. This is true for most bosses that you should bring them close to the basket, which pro players will know as “luring”. But Maws are ESPECIALLY easy to lure, and easy to kill, so make sure to!
Now, you know how killing Maws kind of takes a lot of ink? And have you ever bombed a Maws that is already being bombed by somebody else? Oh no! You wasted ink. How do we avoid this? Well, most salmon run players may develop a habit to throw a bomb at any Maws they might see. But, you should be aware if anyone is about to. I recommend not to bomb a Maws if somebody else is already looking at it, or is closer. Besides, it’s better to just wait for it’s next cycle ( a cycle is a boss salmonid’s attack, and each cycle is from when it finishes it’s attack to right when it attacks again.) than to lose a ton of ink.
And now number three. Maws aren’t a very high priority boss. That means they aren’t very dangerous, they can be easily dodged. Sometimes it’s best to ignore a Maws to a get rid of a higher priority boss. Then you take out the Maws when it’s safer. Though, this one isn’t as important, it’s still worth doing.
I’m not the best salmon run player, but I hope this tips will help, even though I don’t know all that much.
