It's time. After 2 whole weeks of watching TV, you decide to play Splatoon again.. So many new weapons... New stages. You go on ranked to finally get to S. Aaaaaaand you drop back to C. What happened? How can you make a comeback? That's what this thread is for. Not just for me, but for the whole community. So share your tips and tricks for making a comeback to Splatoon in this thread! :D

I just come off of a two week hiatus from Splatoon, though I didn't drop from S to C. Stick with what you used before and reacquaint yourself with the game before you try any of the new weapons in actual matches. Other than that, do what you did to get to S rank before. Si non confectus, non reficiat

Then again, you could use this opportunity to experiment with new play styles in Ranked. It's not like you're going to lose your spot at the top if you're already in the Cs.

At the end of the day, do whatever is fun.

You start playing and keep playing. Accept that you will fail. Try not to try a new weapon during this time period, since you will get back to your previous skill level faster if you practice what you already know.

Also, instead of trying to emulate previous behavior, put yourself in the previous frame of mind. Go the same direction you would at the start of the match, be as aggressive or as defensive as usual. You will naturally get back on your previous track of improvement instead of forcing an entirely new skillset.

Change lobbies immediately. If you are having no success, consider changing playstyles. For example, if you were playing aggressively, switch to support or a defensive one. Different times to play may also help, depending on the region you are in.

Test out your preferred weapons and get reaquainted with aiming. Have fun doing 180 or 360 degree kills. Bring another reliable friend to a squad and hope that helps your plays.
