Hey everyone.

We're currently in the process of setting up the Imperious Lounge to be a high level competitive hub for everything related to Splatoon competition.

This includes things like scrims, PUGs (where 8 people play in randomised teams against each other), discussion of potential tournament rulesets, discussion of the competitive meta as a whole, and so on. Basically, it's a way to keep in touch with all the top teams without getting booted from the chat because you put an extra word in your scrim request. You will also have access to all data, discussion, and so on that has been collated over the past few months (at least, once it's up; we're still getting all that noise together right now), which you can share freely.

For that, we need representatives--preferably two each, for the time being--from every active, competitive team. That is, all teams that have established themselves as being stable and organised (so new teams that are just starting out should probably give it a couple weeks). Ideally, these representatives would include a team leader and a top player from the team. In future, we will open the Lounge up to all top competitive players; for now, this is not logistically feasible. If you run two or more distinct squads (e.g. Squid Squad), feel free to drop another few people in on your behalf. If you have direct contact with another team that has yet to register, please spread the word so that we can get this thing moving. The more teams we have represented, the more useful the Lounge will be.

We also are looking for tournament organisers to join the group, so that they can be directly involved in discussions about current tournaments and how tournament rulesets should be made. Note that this does not mean "do what we tell you", just "run it by us and see if we can spot any major flaws". The fewer Ink or Sink lower bracket finals we run into from here on out, the better.

The Lounge is run via a Discord server (and is currently in the process of moving off Skype). More information can be found at the Lounge thread.

We're hoping that this group can serve as a way to structure and organise the competitive scene as a whole, while also giving teams a place to keep up to date with the scene as a whole. Furthermore, while the Lounge may, in future, act similarly to the Smash Back Rooms, its main purpose is to be a meeting point, not a decision-making body.

If you are interested, please either send me a PM with which team you represent (and preferably a thread or some other information I can take a look at) or submit an application form via the thread linked above.
