I’d say overall map and game awareness is your best bet - know when someone is flanking, pushing, etc. Things to look for in Clam Blitz are (obviously) footballs and (less obviously) the clam count on either side, in addition to each team’s ready specials and active cephalopods. That way you’ll know the best times to go offense or defense.
