So I heard the servers are back up, but now the company announced they'll close them all by spring of 2024. Bummer.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but it apparently the servers of both Splatoon and Mario Kart 8 are down for maintenance due to some kind of vulnerability found in both games.

Yeah, the chaotic nature of Splatoon 1 definitely had its charms.

With how frequently people disconnect I could see it getting very annoying sometimes. Sounds fun though.

Yeah the increased customization seems really awesome. I wonder though, are male and female inklings even a thing anymore? Didn't seem like that from the trailer where they showcased the character creation process.

I think it's more likely the Switch just has a bigger pool of people completely new to the game. 107 million vs 13 million units.

Splatoon 2 had the advantage of being on the Switch in first the place though, contrary to a console that barely anyone bought, so I don't think the addition of Salmon run really impacted a whole lot. Heck, Mario Kart 8 deluxe isn't even a new game and it's the best-selling one on the Switch...
