    Super Jump EXPLAINED????

Based on the Treehouse footage, even when viewing the map, you're still able to play normally (e.g., move with the left analog stick). So with the motion-controlled (or +Control Pad-controlled) cursor, it's pretty close to approximating the dual-screen setup of the Wii U game (and maybe even...

Splatoon: An Amazing Game with TERRIBLE CONTROLS

While I wouldn't say they're terrible (quite the contrary, they're actually pretty great), there is definite room for improvement. While I understand that you would mainly use the right stick to turn the camera (sideways), the Y-axis movement still shouldn't been disabled. Not to mention...

    What would make Splatoon perfect

Ranked in increasing importance: 1. A way to skip the Squid Sisters banter upon starting up the game. It takes a tad longer than it should be get into whatever you're wanting to do. 2. A better way to organize your weaponry/gear. There's just too much stuff to keep track of. 3. Map rotation set...

    Splatoon's Final Boss!

Oh man, as if the single-player wasn't excellent enough...I can't even think of a better finale than this! The presentation and chaotic-yet-controllable chaos...what a way to end. Finish that fight, and look forward to the credits too!

    Other controller compatibility?

To answer your first question, YES. Definitely yes: as much as I like the GamePad, there are still a few disadvantages (aim still centered at the screen, distance between the R and ZR buttons, etc.) when compared to the Wii Remote Plus + Nunchuck combo. As for converters, I don't really dabble...

    Controller Options

I hope in a later patch/update, Nintendo includes full implementation (as in, both in single-player and multiplayer) of not only the Pro and Classic Controllers, but (in my opinion) more importantly the Wii Remote (Plus) + Nunchuk, as I prefer pointer-based controls even to dual analog +...

Motion Controls and why they may be the ideal aiming setup in Splatoon

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I should've clarified a bit further when I said "similar to Metroid Prime 3's implementation": what I meant to say was "similar to Prime 3's Advanced sensitivity settings", with the smaller deadzone not being the entire screen, Splatoon's current sensitivity...

Motion Controls and why they may be the ideal aiming setup in Splatoon

For now, yes, analog stick + gyro is the most ideal way to play Splatoon. But what about Wii Remote + Nunchuk pointing controls similar to Metroid Prime 3's implementation?

Will the full game have Pro Controller support?

While the question has already been answered, it's a shame the game doesn't fully support the Pro Controller. While I do like the GamePad and its motion control, others may not and should be allowed the option to play with a Wii U Pro Controller or Wii Classic Controller (Pro), with the map and...

    Gamepad vs Pro controller

For the time being, the GamePad. Wii Remote Plus + Nunchuk + Wii U GamePad (ala Pikmin 3) would be most preferable, if such an option were to be patched.

To use motion controls or to not use motion controls....

Controlled well as expected: turning with the Right Stick (recommend sensitivity at around plus or minus 1), with the gyro serving as manual aim assist. Having said that, I would've preferred to use pointer controls though, especially with the point-and-click nature of the Wii Remote and having...

What's something that hasn't been announced that you hope is in the game?

Full integration of Wii Remote (Plus) + Nunchuk controls, as well as that of the Pro Controller, Classic Controller, and the GameCube Controller, in single player and all multiplayer modes. Thank goodness for living in a world of updates/patches.

    Wii Remote + Nunchuk controls

So I read the online manual for the game, and it seems that the Pro and Classic Controllers are supported only for Battle Dojo. There's gotta be some way to convince EAD2 to not only add Wiimote controls, but also fully integrate all non-GamePad controllers... The more options, the better.

    Wii Remote + Nunchuk controls

While the GamePad control seems fine, I prefer having my aim not restricted to the center of the screen, so long as the cursor lies within the bounding box. Even though you can use the gyroscope to fine-tune your aim, your aiming reticule is still fixed at the center. As for the map, I agree...

    Wii Remote + Nunchuk controls

Well, if the demand is there, Nintendo might add Wiimote functionality, as Nintendo has patched in control options in games like New Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3, and NES Remix. Also, I think it's silly that the Classic Controller is restricted to Battle Dojo, as that controller has almost as...
