I support paying for online. Paid online has less lag, less wait times, smoother transitions, everything is usually a plus. 50$ per year is affordable to anyone. (With a job at least).

Nothing will probably be done about this now since Nintendo is more focused on developing the NX. Probably will be done in a sequel to this game if there ever comes one.
