    Vanilla mode?

So it hasn't been confirmed. I was afraid of that. I guess I'll just hold out for such a vanilla mode, where you can still wear your outfit, but you won't get the bonuses. I think that would probably be the most fair way to play. Granted, I guess we don't know exactly what kind of effects they...

This Isn't Super Smash Bros. 5

Ah yes, here it is. It really does look bad, doesn't it? I never really suspected Splatoon devs of ripping of this game. I doubt they ever heard of it. I just figured it was worth mentioning that, technically, Splatoon is not the first to do this kind of turf war thing.

    Vanilla mode?

Ever since they announced clothes that affect the players' stats, I wondered if there would be a mode where you could play without these stat-modifiers. Having crazy stats sounds fun, but I could see how this could lead to a lot of cheap or overpowered tactics that would end up making the game...

For anyone interested in some real life Splatoon gear. .

Naw. All those designs were posted by artists. The link OP posted was literally just search results. You can honestly sell whatever design you want on there. They also have phone cases, stickers, etc. I honestly have no idea how they get away with some of this. There's plenty of stuff that is...

    Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.

I played the demo and the characters just talked too much. I like the gameplay, but I could see that getting really old. Is there a way to make them talk less? "I was never any good at hidin'!" stopped being endearing after the first time.

The artists get a cut of the profit, don't worry. Artists make an account, and all their designs are attached to that account. The shaky legal ground would be if RedBubble or these artists are truly allowed to sell products based off Nintendo IP (and other IPs -- there are all kinds of shirts...

    What's Up With VC?

This sums it up well. Even if voice chat was in the game, I would hardly even use it for several reasons. Even so, there isn't really a GOOD reason it shouldn't be included, but with an option to turn it off. The reason they intentionally left out voice chat isn't because they're lazy or...

For anyone interested in some real life Splatoon gear. .

I've ordered shirts from RedBubble before, and they're good quality. I have T-shirts that are about 4 years old from them. They haven't deteriorated very much -- no holes anywhere, and the ink is still in pretty good shape for its age. Just make sure you turn the t-shirt inside-out before you...

Do you guys think the smash community will make up a large portion of the competitive scene?

Well, considering it was advertised on Smashboards and created by some Smashboards people, I'd imagine Squidboards, as of now, is mostly known only by people from Smashboards.

Splatoon at Get On My Level

As far as competitive gameplay goes, I dunno if this tournament will mean much. It will happen a day or two after it comes out, so the players won't have a very good grasp on the game. Plus, the TOs won't have a good grasp on how to run the tournament or decide rules because it hasn't been done...

Do you guys think the smash community will make up a large portion of the competitive scene?

Well, let's be fair here. It's harder to do split-screen on a shooter than on most other kinds of games. Not only does it take more work for the machine, but also players prefer to have an entire screen to themselves. Can you imagine one TV being split into 8-player split-screen? Anything more...

Do you guys think the smash community will make up a large portion of the competitive scene?

I guess you're right. But it still makes stuff like finding a big enough venue difficult. I hope the community can overcome this. Especially since, let's face it, the community will not be that large (at least to start). Wii U is not exactly a big seller, plus not every Wii U owner will buy...

Do you guys think the smash community will make up a large portion of the competitive scene?

Even so, that will make local tournaments even harder to do than Smash. Imagine EVERY player needing to bring a console instead of just a fraction of them. Then, you need enough space for 8 TVs for just one setup. Then there is the issue of swapping out Wii Us between matches... it's kind of a...

This Isn't Super Smash Bros. 5

Did you ever play Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2? It's not a shooter, obviously, but I just remembered it has a turf war kind of mode. It's a versus mode where the players have to claim obstacles like ramps, rails, kickers, etc. by doing tricks on them. The first player to do a trick on an obstacle will...
