The ones I listed. Disgaea, Advanced Wars, Fire Emblem, and Mario+Rabbids to name a few. Some are less complex than others. If you have a DS there are loads of good turn bassed game for it.
I guarantee less weapons would mean less players. I know i would not buy the game with 2 classes of weapons. It would be mirror matches all the time. Not fun.
A dynamo in a good players hands can control the map like no other I think..
A few of these ideas are good but Splatoon does not have the users to have that many multiplayer options. Lots of empty or timed out lobbies would be the norm I think.
Tower Control all day long. I play all of them but if clam blitz went bye bye in Splat3 I would not care at all.
Pretty sure the reason the modes are on a rotation is because the player base is not big enough for 'Choose your own mode.'
