I started playing at about 3:00ish PM eastern. I had Roller Coaster King at about twenty till eight. I then put the game down because I was sick of having Port Mackerel shoved down my throat.
I always had some issues with Mackerel. This most recent Splatfest didn't help. It's basically a hallway. You can't flank, you can't loop around, it's just a straight line. All you can hope for is that when you first see the enemy team, more Inklings on the other side go pop than on your side...
People who say that the Aerosparys are good haven't been in or watched the upper levels of the Ranked. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE uses an Aerospray in A range.
After the most recent patch, Kraken has lost a huge amount of its luster. Unless you're flanking the person in some way or right on top...
The entire team super-jumping onto the tower. You see more triple and quad kills that way. It's great when the other team does it, but I want to hang my team when they do it. One person elsewhere can be far more beneficial (ESPECIALLY if a wipe occurs).
Super-Jumping to the tower is a dicey proposition. At this point, I'm pretty sure most triple and quad kills come from Super Jumping to the tower and the other team just sitting their with a **** eating grin on their face. One person roaming/flanking/killing/hunting can be more useful than four...
Only do that in the closing seconds of the match. Otherwise, as the quoted person said, it'll get cleaned up almost instantly. It also feeds that person badly needed special, since they did just die.
There's always a "purgatory" where idiots ride the shoulders of their betters up to a certain point. Eventually, it gets harder and harder for their betters to carry them, and they get left behind. In this case, their better leaves the lobby, plays a round or two of turf wars to give their back...
Bans and the teams selecting the mode and stages they want, in my opinion, is the best way to do it. It has worked for Smash since the days of 64 (Stage Banning etc.) why wouldn't it work here?
And I don't see why Turf Wars shouldn't be included in that list. Leave it up to the individual teams...
