Any pro you watch who plays with analog is either ignorant or has been playing console shooters for so many years that they're used to it. Motion controls are the objectively better control scheme, you shouldn't waste time trying to play without it.

If you have two switches you can play Turf War together, you just might not be on the same team. If you want to be on the same team you can pair up for a League Battle once you're both B- rank. You can also play salmon run together and the other two slots will be filled by random players.

I haven't hacked my gear b/c I don't care enough about it to figure out how it works. Sub abilities impact on performance is pretty minor, I get by just fine with random abilities.

They're just reskins for the regular weapons. Get one for your favorite if you want, but you don't need all of them.

Splatoon's weapons are surprisingly well balanced, you can make pretty much anything work if you practice enough with it. That said it's still too early for a real meta to develop, most people haven't even unlocked all the weapons yet.
