While I am now buying the game (my original intention was to buy it used for $30), I agree with everything you said. I feel (along with some others) felt that Nintendo added in custom matches due to fan outcry as they said before it won't be in the game. I would also be pissed but weekly free...

Roller and shooter for me. Mostly the paintbrush and the long range shooter type weapon (not the charger). I feel that weapon may be helpful for the tower mode.
