I'm a deco user. I like ink efficiency. You can see my mains just in my display picture there (that's a dark urban vest if it's not clear). It's not too hard to get krakens for when I need them, but I'm not as built to spam them as I could be. Generally, though, I just stack the bejeezus out of...
Me! I'm hank's friend who originally documented the technique and yes, the name has to do with myself and the buddy who helped me name it being smash nerds.
Ninja squid allows you to swim at 90% of your base speed. This generally allows you to stealth at about 65% (the maximum is 70% with perfect tilting, but you lose a little speed by stuttering for squidtrotting). So, ninja squid is usually about 38.5% faster.
If you like percents, the above means:
Base run: 100%
Max run: 150%
Base ninja squid: 180%
Base swim: 200%
Max swim: 250%
Max ninja swim: 225% (if cap can still be reached with 2 mains and lots of subs)
It has a cooler name!
No, uh:
-It's way more reliable, at least for using stealth swim's maximum speeds. A lot of us find carefully tilting the stick to be unbearable in the heat of combat if we try to get a good speed out of it without going over.
-It has maximum acceleration rather than a...
I mean--it's still a markedly faster stealth swim! Maybe for the right person, high-maximum-speed stealth swimming will be essential for them. Squidtrotting is great for short-range or medium-pace stealth ops but the fact it's appreciably slower than ninja squid in terms of max speed might stand...
Cool! I'll try that out for sure.
In terms of top speed it depends how good you are at either. The maximum stealth swim speed with perfect control is about 70%. I can't get this personally without taking tons of time to carefully wiggle the stick in to the right place. Without making errors, I...
I'm sure it'll still be used for carbon rollers and ssjr and stuff, or just people who like it! But I agree, this is a great, highly serviceable stealthing option for non-ninja squids, like my cold blooded self.
Yes--I should add a point to the main thread to clear that up. Based on my tests...
I recently discovered a new technique while trying to figure out how to remain efficient at sneaking in plain sight without ninja squid. If you're like me, you like to sneak around in the ink, but without ninja squid have a hard time controlling the gentle tilting of the control stick well...
I guess you can think of squeakons as being like a healing tool since it helps people recover from death much faster and safer in terms of getting back in to the fight.
Good point. Special duration could be clutch too for a support bubbler.
Though, pound for pound, sub saver can be lame since the % bonus is small. Main saver might be better so their shooting leaves plenty of ink for sensors or whatevs.
