Maybe? idk how ranking down works, it seems kind of arbitrary sometimes. After the march reset I hit zl and it offered to change me from S to A+, so I assume someone in my situation who got demoted to A+ at the start of the season could self demote to A or A-.
pretty sure you don't. if you were like to get to 750 points or whatever to go from A to A+ then drop back below 750 you'd stay A+. similar for with S+0 to S+50
but I don't actually have any evidence for that
