I don't really think the change to the results screen was a good one. Th kill/deaths version wasn't the best either but I think this one is even worse. You could win 9 matches then do absolutely nothing in the next match and still be at the top of your team. Not really fair in my opinion. I think think they should make a point system for kills, turf, and the objective. Like in turf war you could get 35 kills and 3 deaths but not be at the top because the Aerospray guy covered everything but got 1 kill. You're probably the reason your team won but not be first. Same thing can also apply to ranked.
The problem overall is that there are so many gray areas regarding overall contribution to a match, because there are many ways to contribute, and there are many ways to NOT contribute.
For instance, say there was a player in a Rainmaker match. Player A never gets the Rainmaker the entire match and only earns 1 splat--but that splat is an opposing Rainmaker holder and allows Player A's team to reclaim the Rainmaker. Player A's teammate Player B obtains the Rainmaker while the team was losing. Player B proceeds to find a nearby corner on their own side and hide, splatting any opponent who comes close, and continues to do so until the Rainmaker's countdown finishes and it explodes, getting 9 splats with the Rainmaker during that time.
Who contributed more: Player A or Player B? Quite clearly, it's Player A, who actively worked towards the goal, and not Player B, who hindered their team. But if the game counted it based on splats or on the amount of time holding the Rainmaker, Player B would be on top, and if the game determined based on the distance towards the goal they reached while carrying the Rainmaker (that is, their portion of the dotted line up on top of the screen), they'd be tied because they both contributed nothing.
