I can't actually join the group due to a glitch my account has. It says I joined 5 groups when I only joined one.

Aright! I just saw your post in the discord chat. As of right now, there aren't any tryouts. But there will be tryouts before/during Splatoon 2. For now, feel free to stay in the groups etc. :)
