Inspired by Sling Projectile Weaponry from ARMs

Directs:

-In order to hit an opponent directly, players will need to have their projectile touch an opponent in physical contact.

Indirects:

-Indirects are the result of impact caused when projectiles make contact with objects and surfaces, creating an AOE radius of damage around the areas of impact. (burst bomb esq impact with ballista indirects) Indirects deal only a portion of damage compared to directs.

Functionality:

-Projectiles are sling-like and attached to their weapons. After a projectile has been fired, it will travel to its endpoint. (max distance) The projectile will then retract back to its weapon and user after it has reached its endpoint. (idk whether or not projectiles can hit players when they retract back to their users)

-Players can retract their projectile at any point after it has been fired by pressing ZR again. This means that users do not have to wait until their projectile reaches its endpoint for it to start returning to them. (players can also simply submerge in ink via ZL to retract their projectiles)

-A charging ring will fill up as a projectile travels to its endpoint. This ring measures a minimum (no fill) to maximum (full) distance of a weapon’s projectile. Charge from a ring decreases when a projectile starts to retract back to its user, which fully depletes when it arrives back to the player.

Horizontal Shot Trajectory:

-The standard fire of this weapon class are horizontal shots, which are shot by pressing ZR once.

-Horizontal shots have linear trajectory. This makes them consistent in their direction/travel.

-Horizontal shots travel & retract 1 frame faster, are more consistent with their trajectory, & consume less ink than angled shots.

Angled Shot Trajectory:

-Angled shots have curved trajectory. (shots can reach around objects/surfaces with an arc, like a stringer)

-Angled shots require the trigger button (ZR) to be held down briefly before releasing to fire. (trigger hold is similar to a Splatana's vertical slash)

-Angled shots travel farther (more range) and have more shot angles than horizontal shots.
