So I'm pretty sure we are all familiar with Squid Beats right? the mode on the gamepad that lets us choose our music in the waiting room? Well what if you had an option to choose one of those songs to bring with you into battle instead of listening to whatever the default music is? I think that should be an option in an update. I'd personally love to play ranked or turf while listening to the music when you fight the octolings or when you fight DJ Octavio. Your thoughts?

I think that there are, presently, nine tracks that can play in battles (plus the TW 'one minute left' music). And, although that's no too poor variety, if one compares with Pokémon (at least 15) or Smash (several hundred), it shows that it could stand to be beefed up. Pokémon does a similar thing to what you're suggesting - in addition to the various standard battle themes (which correspond to Splatoon's existing tracks), it also lets you play Legendary Pokémon themes, the Champion's theme, music from the villainous teams and other stuff. But what'd be awesome is if Splatoon added (maybe next instalment) a Smash-style jukebox that allowed you to choose and play music from all sorts of Nintendo franchises - Splatoon is just too small to supply a large range of music on its own, but it deserves to be treated as on the level of other Nintendo IPs.

Love the jukebox idea. I don't really feel that Splatoon is too small of a game to let you play the music you want in it though. Through all the updates we had.

Sorry, subtle distinction - I meant that Splatoon, the franchise, just hasn't had enough games (1) to have a great deal of original battle-style tracks (14 or so, which doesn't compare to some selections). It's big enough as a game to allow in external music, though, I agree.
