Do Coins in Private Count Towards Your Account?

I can't seem to figure it out. sometimes, my coins go up, and sometimes they don't during private. is it only when facing other teams?

No it doesn't. The only times you receive coins that count towards your account are in normal matches with randoms and squads. You do not get coins in private lobbies.
