Hello! I'm sorry if this is an odd or out of place thread, or this doesn't relate enough to Splatoon. However I can't think of many other places to ask besides Nintendo themselves.

Recently while playing Splatoon I've noticed some resistance while walking forward. My walk will sometimes stutter or slow and recently it's gotten worse. So much worse that even when I'm pressing fully forward on the joystick, I'll either jog, walk, or slow to a crawl. Sometimes stopping completely or even walking BACKWARDS.

This has heavily affected my gameplay and made basic forward movement dreadful. To get around this I'll either tilt my camera to the side (So that when I walk forward I'm pressing the joystick to the left/right rather than my broken forward movement), or jiggle the joystick from left to right in a zigzag pattern. It's ridiculous.

This problem has basically nullified any speed perks I once used, as well as made momentum based jumps risky and unreliable. I'm really getting fed up.

If it would help I could provide video detailing my problem further, but I'll only do that if asked. I'm very new here so I'm still unsure if this belongs here or somewhere else. Please tell me if that's the case. I'm just trying to find somewhere that can help me with my problem.

TL;DR - My gamepad's forward movement is broken and I would love suggestions on how to fix it so I can start enjoying Splatoon again!

Thanks for reading!

That sounds like something you should ask Nintendo support themselves. Is your Wii U still under warranty?

Nah, I've had it since 2012. But if it comes to it I'll give Nintendo a call.

I thought I would try asking around online before doing so though. I'm quite afraid of phone calls ^^;

I totally get the phone anxiety thing. Maybe try finding their customer support email if they have one? I had to get my gamepad screen replaced a good while ago and I think most of the process was online via help ticket.

Hey I've got the same issue as you and it seems to be only with Splatoon. Did you manage to find a solution?
