Absolutely terrifying. I am sure Nintendo's anti hacking measures are reliable enough to notice this stuff online, though.

I wouldn't bet on it, even though Splatoon is a very well designed game the devs made so many ridiculously horrible decisions from a technical point of view, mainly to cut costs and to give the illusion of smooth online gameplay. In a technically sound shooter the game is almost unplayable between continents.

Basically the clients may have so much authority in simulating the game that it might not be doable for Nintendo to implement proper anti-cheat measures.

I hope I'm wrong though

IIRC this is not possible on current firmware. NWPlayer hasn't connected his Wii U online during any of his hacking escapades.

While I don't enjoy when hackers ruin online matches, I've gotta give him credit for being able to do this. I think it's pretty cool when people are so good at hacking that they can do stuff like this. It'll be a different story if it goes online.
