Has gaining special passively in SZ always been there?

I don't recall this being a feature at all. While your opponent actively has the point, you passively gain special charge similar to having tenacity gear.

Also in Rainmaker, you gain special passively whenever your opponent has a point lead OR has actively has the rainmaker.

In the case of Rainmaker, it leads to this Kraken ****fest mess where everyone is just spamming specials. It's really awkward and unfun.

Can no one take rainmaker seriously now or do I have to adapt to Super Specail Bros? I thought rainmaker was stupid enough, with all the rediclious, bait them into killing you, and then camp the every loving **** outta them strats, that apply to every map. But Super Specail Bros. Takes the cake.

Yes, this feature has always been there. I believe this feature and Tenacity stack as well.

Yeah, this has always been there, in every Ranked mode. Not sure if Turf War has it, never looked at my Special meter when my team was losing.

Wait, you get Special just from the other team having the Rainmaker? I could understand gaining Special while they have the lead and the Rainmaker, but just having the Rainmaker giving the other team their Specials faster... I don't like it. Not at all. The losing team doesn't need more disadvantages than having to carry the Rainmaker deeper into enemy territory when they have the Rainmaker, at least in my opinion.

Yeah, I noticed the other team got their Specials frequently when I was playing Rainmaker. That could get kind of annoying. Especially Kraken/Bubblerspam.
