Haunt activated when spotted?

So I noticed the Haunt ability become active whenever I get hit by Echolocator or a Point Sensor.

What is it that it's supposed to do when that happens...?

Damage+defense buff as well as run speed?
Don't know how much it gives you specifically though, your best bet to find that would be splat-reddit or somesuch.
