IDEA: A New Way to get Super Sea Snails

As everyone knows the only way to get super sea snails is through splatfest, but who wants to wait around 3-4 weeks for a new splatfest to get a hold of these snails? What if during regular play (turf/ranked) you manage to get a vibe ranking of 10 or more. Then you can get 1 super sea snail from Judd per day (24hrs). Just a thought, if you have an idea for getting more snails, I like to hear your idea as well.

Well, in doing that you'd actually earn 1 Sea Snail per rotation, which amounts to a maximum 6 snails per day. Unless I've misunderstood you, and your idea only pays out a single snail per day.

There really are quite a few things they could do to make Sea Snails more widely available. This is one of the more simple solutions I've heard. I could easily get behind this, since it would be an incentive to keep playing (and winning).

That idea does sound pretty nice. As there's what? Like 4-5 hours per rotation? So you'd have enough time to actually try to get it. 6 isn't too little, or too much either. If anything, I wish they'd let us choose between if we wanted to use our snails or our gold to reroll/add slots to our gear.

I was thinking 1 per day just like spike's ordering. Because if you earn 6 snails in a day you have the potential to earn 180 snails in a month which could make splatfest pointless
That is my reasoning for the 1 per day cap.

I know, but it is all hypothetical though. Like it is hypothetical that at start of rotation you earn a vibe level of 10 on turf within 60-90 min, take a break until next rotation, and then start the process over again. But, to do that would require a player that has no outside life. Again all hypothetical talk.

i really do not see the issue doing it 1 per rotation XD, splatfest still gives a lot more even in 24/7 play.

my big concern is gear gap of new player and old, the current ways is not lasting, they need to let you be more selective in getting abitlites since people that know better are doing it anyway. So I care about that way more then wondering if 1 or 6 per day is too little or too much in agurment. I see no harm in 1 per rotation with way things now as with older player they hold no real value anyway..

(account 1, 150 something snails, 1.2 million money)
(account 2, 70 (something, 77 or something, 1.2 million money)

Kids, people that work part-time, the unemployed... Lots of people indeed do have too much free time, so it's a factor :P

that can keep up sleeping 3 hr a day? not only unrealistic but inhuman and unheathy.

realistically i say 4 would be max per day(least average sure people little sleep once in a while but there is no way to do it long term)

This is a great idea! One per rotation wouldn't be too bad since you aren't guaranteed to get a vibe over 10 during a given rotation (especially since this game is so team work dependent). One snail per 24 hours is pretty reasonable too.

I've been really trying to improve my gear sets lately and farming for gold is really starting to be a pain, so any extra way to get super sea snails would be great!

What about if you earn a certain amount of points per day? If it was based on the vibe meter, then the players that aren't as skilled wouldn't get to earn as much as the ones that are. If it was based on points earned, then everyone has an equal chance and isn't based purely on winning matches. Maybe they could add another meter underneath the experience bar that shows your progress towards a snail.

It's kind of ridiculous how the system is now. I hate waiting like a month+ for a sea snail. And even then, if that date doesn't happen to work out like it never really does for me, personally, then that idea is awful.

The points meter doesn't sound too bad either. At least with points it's more centered around you doing your part in the match (at least for turf war). Vibe meter could end up punishing users just because they ended up with a bad team that didn't pull their weight. The only frustration with points would be for people that play ranked. For people that don't like turf war, it could take a ridiculously long time to get enough points for a snail in ranked. Although the obvious solution would be to just play some turf war until you get the needed points (or just keep playing ranked since gold rewards are higher in ranked anyway.)

Since (in my opinion) it's a lot easier to get points than it is to increase your vibe, would you say that the snails would be once every 24 hours or once per rotation?

Personally, i'd rather make it every 24 hours, but that's probably just because I have the gear I want. One every rotation seems reasonable to me. I usually get to play for 2-3 rotations on weekdays. It seems like a lot when compared to splatfest, but it does take quite a bit of rerolls to get optimal gear (unless you're lucky).

If it seems like it's too easy to earn snails, then they can up the amount of points you need.

Well I mean... it's a competitive game. Better players should be rewarded. It's not so often that I manage to get that high of a vibe, but I would definitely rather feel like I've earned it rather than just working towards an inevitability.

True, but I was thinking the change would mainly be for newer players, as they haven't received nearly as many snails as players here since launch, and this would give them the chance to catch up.

Though that's a bit difficult, because then the veteran players might feel like it isn't fair to them, because the new players wouldn't have to wait as long for good gear. At least, that's a possibility. It happened on another game I used to play.
