Hey all, I am very new to Splatoon, just got it on Friday. I have completed the main story and am now workign on Mulitplayer before my 3 Amiibos turn up this week.
Now the problem I am seeing in multiplayer is that at times 2 player's are just sitting in the spawn and not helping out at all, and at the end of the round they have 0 points.
This has happened 3 out of the 11 matches matches I played this morning, everytime they were a Japanese player.
Is this a regular thing? Or just maybe 2 players on our team have friends on the other team so they are helping them out to win?
Would be great if they brought in a report feature mainly for Competive play not regular as reports would be flying around.

Not usually :\ Should still be able to find and report people by going to friends list and at the bottom "recently played". I've heard a lot of complaints about Japanese players, though. Usually that only happens between clans or friends when they're trying to meet up.

As soon as it happens once to you or the other team in your lobby I'd leave the lobby and join another one. It does happen from time to time but not that frequently (recently) for me.

I haven't had too many problems at all with Japanese players specifically, and in my region they are the majority of players that I end up matched up with (probably for latency reasons, Japan is much closer to Australia than Europe or the US is). In fact I haven't really had any problems with players idling specifically, just the occasional disconnect which I assume is an accident. Maybe I've just been lucky though.

Ah ok, I am from the UK and find it funny that I am matched along with Japanese players, but then again this is during the day time, at night I see more English names pop up. Thanks for your replies guys.

It has a lot to do with how well Splatoon sold in Japan and how they are concentrated in just a few time zones where as NA and EU/PAL are split over multiple time zones.

It means they disconnected if they have zero points. Japanese players sometimes lag, disconnect, make the room glitch, etc (although any player can really). They aren't not helping on purpose. Even if for some crazy reason they were "helping" the other team it would be impossible for them to get 0 pts and 0/0 K/D ratio, they would have to not move and even then they would just time out after a minute. Welcome to Splatoon, we lag.
