| Azimuth She/They Azimuth grew up in Inkopolis Square while living with her dad. Due to how she was raised, she was a very excitable cephalopod, and carried this attitude out onto the battlefield, with a fiery passion for Turf War that made her sling Tenta Missiles left and right with her N-ZAP '89. With her childhood friend Drogue at her side, they tore up the battlefield. After meeting Viol and discussing lifestyles and fashion sense, Azimuth realized that she viewed herself as childish, and made a hard turn toward acting "cool," asking Drogue and Viol to refer to her by the nickname "AZ (read: ayy-zee)." After spending 4 years slowly fine tuning her fashion sense and attitude, she grew a fondness for the Annaki brand of clothing. She moved out from living with her dad, across the newly constructed Hammerhead Bridge, and into an apartment on the outskirts of Splatsville, where she now turfs tooth and nail with a Splatana Wiper. Picture 1 shows how she looks in the modern day. Picture 2 shows how she originally looked, before examining her personality. Picture 3 shows a "disguise" she has for herself, under the false identity of "Roach," which she uses to experiment with other weapons without affecting her own record. |
| Viol They/Them Working in logistics for the Octarian army, Viol was freed from Octarian propaganda and brainwashing by the Calamari Inkantation and escaped Octo Canyon to head for Inkopolis. After finally arriving, they noticed how utterly absorbed the Inkling, and now Octoling, populations are with the industry of clothing. Fixating on this, Viol applied their experience in logistics to invent a rating system for brands and pieces of clothing, which they dubbed "Viol Freshness Rating." Armed with countless calculations and formulas, Viol set up a website to track the ratings of brands and clothing pieces in real time, to see what was considered the most "fresh" at any given moment. Viol met Azimuth during a Turf War in which they were on the same team, where Viol backed Azimuth's chaotic lifestyle up with an Aerospray RG. After having defeat handed to them, Viol met Azimuth outside of Deca Tower for a conversation, which spawned a friendship. They like to taunt Azimuth in the modern era for how she used to be, refusing to stop referring to her as "AZ." |
| Olive She/Her Living alone out in the area of Inkopolis Plaza, Olive is a die-hard Turf War veteran, dedicating her entire lifestyle to honing her craft without playing any other gamemode. Wearing clothing designed to be used with the green ink color, she annihilates her opposing teams with her N-ZAP '85. Olive met Azimuth during a Turf War in which they were on the same team, where Olive recruited Azimuth and used her militaristic strategies to decisively win the game in the face of the odds being stacked against them. After the match, Azimuth promised to play more games with her. |
| Kedge He/They Kedge is a "jack of all trades" sort, simply riding the whims of fate and trying out whatever happens to appeal to him. He does a lot of window shopping and impulse buying, leading him to owning more things than he probably should. Whenever he chooses to spend some time on the battlefield, he gravitates toward the Classic Squiffer, appreciating the flexibility it grants him. Kedge met Viol while on a shopping trip, in which Viol asked Kedge to try on some clothes that Viol had picked out in a bid to determine which seemed more fresh. When Viol ended up giving their consensus, Kedge bought the opposite set of clothes. Appreciating how bold Kedge was, Viol stayed in contact. |
| Genoa She/Her Genoa is a history buff, fascinated with the geography and events of the Splatlands. She spends copious amounts of time doing work for Grizzco, using the helicopter rides to and from Salmonid swim zones to gaze out at the landscape and see if she can spot anything she hasn't before. She plays Tableturf Battle in her spare time, appreciating the principles that it conveys to those that play actual Turf War. When she does step out onto the battlefield, she uses a Tenta Brella to support her teammates. Genoa met Olive during a Tableturf Battle, in which Genoa absolutely smoked Olive, but appreciated the energy she brought to the bout. After several rematches, the two agreed to stay in contact with each other, exchanging tips about their flavors of Turf War. |
| Drogue He/Him Drogue is a fiery squid, having a bombastic and outgoing personality, and tending to be quite loud. Being the long-time friend of Azimuth, Azimuth likes to poke fun at him, saying that he took the energy she left behind, to which Drogue simply laughs it off. Drogue rampages across Turf War maps, using his Dapple Dualies Nouveau to slip around his enemies and get in close to splat them. The exact conditions of Drogue and Azimuth meeting are remembered by neither of them, but they both agree that it happened while they were both in schooling. |
