The fall had been a long and unexpected drop into a dark gorge. There was no ink to soften your impact with the rocky bottom. It's cold and dark, but hardly silent. One by one, you hear increasingly chilling sounds echo throughout the cavern. First, a train derailing. Then the wail of metal mangling as a structure collapses. Finally, what you can only assume is the dying scream of some other unfortunate soul hits your ears. Steeling yourself, you pull your flashlight out of your bag and wave it around until you find an opening that leads deeper underground.
You can't get out the way you came.
Your only option lies ahead.
You have to get out of this place.
Welcome to Octo Gorge. You took a nasty spill, and now find yourself somewhere no kid, or squid, has a chance of surviving in. Not alone at least. Cut off from the rest of the Octarians for years after it was overrun by Salmonids, Octo Gorge hasn't gotten any better as the ruins of what was once a great Octarian city has deteriorated more and more. It isn't going to get any better either, and you have to get out while you still have the chance.
Gameplay
Octo Gorge plays similar to Until Dawn, an interactive horror game. The characters are free to act on their own up until a certain point, where they will be given a set of choices to make. No matter how insignificant these choices may seem, they can have a massive impact in the future.
The GM (me) will cause events to occur, and will also offer the choices available to each character.
Characters
You'll need....
Scavenging
Needless to say, you didn't expect to wind up down here, so you didn't really come prepared for this. But don't worry, everything you need is down here, you just need to know where to look.
Backpack
Everyone will start out with a backpack. You don't have hammerspace, so your storage is limited. However, there are a few things that don't take up space and you'll always have from the start. All characters will have their Ink Tank, a flashlight, and a lighter. If you ever need more space, you can always throw an item out. If you want to give an item to someone else, you can do that too as long as the giver and receiver both agree.
There are a lot of things that you can find in Octo Gorge that will aid your survival. Some of these will be more important than others in certain situations. Some will have no use at all depending on your actions. Still, it's always worth taking them until you're certain that they're useless to you.

Scavenging
Needless to say, you didn't expect to wind up down here, so you didn't really come prepared for this. But don't worry, everything you need is down here, you just need to know where to look.

- 1 weapon
- 1 special weapon
- 1 sub weapon
- 2 pieces of equipment
- 3 miscellaneous items.
There are a lot of things that you can find in Octo Gorge that will aid your survival. Some of these will be more important than others in certain situations. Some will have no use at all depending on your actions. Still, it's always worth taking them until you're certain that they're useless to you.
- Weapons. You don't start out with any weapons, and you'll more than likely need one in the future. Finding regular weapons is actually quite difficult, so search hard. While specials and subs do exist, they are almost impossible to get your hands on, so save them for emergencies.
- Equipment. There are several kinds of equipment that you can find in Octo Gorge, all with various purposes.
- Armor Packs allow you to survive one fatal event.
- Utility Devices have uses based on the situation. For example, a grappling hook can be used to scale vertical, uninkable surfaces.
- Healing Items are good for any wounds that can't be healed just by swimming ink. It would be wise to carry one of these. Just because you can't break a bone doesn't mean you can't bleed out.
- Miscellaneous Items. These can be anything from a map of the area to help guide you to a key that might be used to open a door later on.
Things To Keep In Mind
- Think carefully before choosing. You will rarely affect yourself through your choices, and more than often affect those around you.
- In Octo Gorge, life is not sacred. Your time to escape may be static, but how long you have to live depends on your choices, and the choices of the other characters. There is no coming back if you die down here, so be careful.
- Don't think for a moment that you're safe at any time. Octo Gorge is rapidly deteriorating, and its uninvited inhabitants are as unpredictable as the Gorge itself. A structure could collapse at any moment, or you could find yourself surrounded by hostiles. Stay alert!
- You won't survive alone. While you may find yourself alone at some points, you will more than often have to rely on the help of your friends.
