it would mess with the post numbers. If your post is post #1 and then someone does post #2 and then someone does post #3 and then #2 is deleted, #3 comes directly after #1.

imo if you would want to delete it later, just don't post it in the first place

you could edit a post to change what was in it

Tbh mods being the main people with the privileges to delete posts is fine, people just need to stick to "think before you speak" more.
