Please help, play as boy or girl

Hopefully this isn't a stupid question . My son plays as inkling boy, I presume he chose this when he first played the game. He has completed large parts of the game but would like to play as the inkling girl now. Is there a way to change which character you play as?

Yep: When in inkopolis plaza: Tap Options at the bottom right of the gamepad. Then tap Inkling in the bottom left.

When you're in the plaza, lobby, or shop just press the "options" tab on your gamepad. At the bottom left corner you can select the option to change your inkling's appearance. Gender, skin colour, and eye colour.

You can do this whenever and as often as you want. I do it ever few sessions just because I can.
