Pre-game lobby/ weapon select?

Does anyone know if you select your loadout before searching like in the testfires? Or can you select in the pre-game lobby once you see the map?

This would be important for selecting weapons with randoms. That way you don't end up with 4 chargers or rollers or other unfavorable combinations (or at least you have the option to avoid them).

Maybe somewhere down the line they can patch that in, because that's a pretty silly design choice imo

Maybe it will be an option when they release ranked battles with friends? I don't think they want load-out synergy to be something they have to balance yet (i.e., for now they want you to pick your best load out considering that you may be paired with any other set of load outs). Obviously these kind of choices will be part of the strategy for friend-team battles, so maybe at that point they'll let it be part of the strategy in casual and normal ranked, too.

I really think they need the option to change loadouts mid-match between deaths like in other shooters. Playing as a roller is fun. Playing on a team of 4 rollers? Not so much.

This definitely needs to be a feature eventually. I've had many people complain about it, understandably.

I wish they would add this, and the ability to change your options in the lobby because getting the right sensitivity for your stick requires a bit of testing before you get comfortable. it really would be nice to be able to do this in game without having a bunch of waiting time in between..

The options thing is really missing, most fps/3rdps games have that as default, the fact splatoon is missing it makes me sad

I think changing the weapons in lobby before the game starts is what you need to be able to do as long as you can see what the team has as weapons too. Sticking with one weapon for the course of the game is something I think should stay as it makes it so you can`t just pull out a weapon to counter whatever the enemy has or one to fix your teams comp.
