Question about levels

How much does your level affect how well you do in ranked mode and overall the game? For example, compare a level 15 and a level 50. Is there a noticeable difference? I see a lot of the S ranks are high levels but not sure to associate that with experience over time or just any advantageous stats.

Levels are an indicator of a person's experience with the game, it does not boost stats, the most stat boosty thing would be unlocking gear with more stars. For example, there could be a level 50 player that mains Aerospray RG and never touched ranked after playing it once. He/she is either mediocre because they've limited themselves to one gamemode due to fear, or they're the Aero Master: God of the Turf War, firing at the speed of light. So yeah rank is a better indicator of someone's skill.

Levels have nothing to do with how good you are, it's just an indicator of your experience. I've seen a person who was Level 7 get top on the winning team. It's possible.

Another thing; you can keep playing Splatoon, lose, and level up. Say, if I lose every single game and don't improve, I'll still make it to Level 50, just I might not be exactly good.

Well with lvl 6 i won most of my turf wars against lvl 20 with inkbrush

Even ranked level can be misleading I think. If you get a squad and everyone is communicating you can move of the ranks pretty quick. If you are just playing with randoms in ranked mode you can be really good and still lose or be not so good and still win.

You can't tell the ability of a player until the match starts. Level 50s just play Splatoon more than level 49s and lower. That's it. You don't get points for being skillful, you get points for playing the game.
