I know they've been adding new weapons regularly and have added a number of maps so far- with one more to come confirmed. My question is, does anyone know if Nintendo is planning to make any different kinds of changes for Splatoon? Such as game play changes, new game modes, new features, or anything like that.
The reason I'm wondering is because I feel like there could be a lot more to game, especially feature wise. For a multiplayer shooter there's no way to view your own stats or another person's stats. I feel like in most modern shooters there's a way to view stats such as - your best weapons (or most used weapons), k/d ratio, win/loss percentage, etc. I also feel like there isn't much incentive to level up past 20.
I know there's certain types of gear/weapons you are rewarded past 20, but I wish there was more of an incentive, given the fact that people put hundreds of hours in to be one of the higher levels. Things like this would include- cool and unique looking armor (the only unique looking ones you need an amiibo for), skins for a weapon (yes the game is colorful enough, but maybe they can be creative and change other things with it, not just the color), certain victory dances after a win, etc.
There can also be a lot done to the in-game multiplayer battles. There are no specific medals or rewards at the end of a match. For example, if you had the top kills or 'splats', had the most head shots (I know it's a kid's game), contributions to your team (held the rainmaker the longest, stood on a splat zone/tower the longest). Also, there is no kill feed on the screen and no 'killstreaks' to maybe let us know who's been dominating. Please not: These aren't suggestions I'm giving here, just simply examples of what Nintendo can do for Splatoon.
Lastly, the big elephant in the room- There is no voice chat and of course the content lock. I'm not expecting Nintendo to ever change that, but I do wonder if they will add on to this game. Not just with maps and weapons, but with the overall complexity and longevity of the game.
